Dear Reader,
October opens with Venus going retrograde (partly in Scorpio and partly in Libra) from October 3 until November 13, a total of 42 days, so be sure to check your forecast for both your Sun sign and for your rising sign.

Your October 2026 Horoscope for Virgo
by Susan MillerYou seem to be working on a plan that will improve your life, but this month you will run into delays. When you do, keep in mind that they are simply temporary little bumps in the road that will force you to consider your decisions carefully. The month will have a slow pace and allow you to attend to tasks you had put aside weeks ago due to lack of time.
While you might wish for life to speed up in October and during the first part of November, you will soon enter an extremely busy period in December and beyond—and you’ll be even busier as you reach mid- to late 2027.
In a few months, when you think back, you will reminisce over the leisurely pace you had in October and November. This is a time when you will be able to sleep an extra half hour when the alarm goes off, linger over your morning coffee, and actually have enough time to read part of the morning paper. Some nights you will have time to giggle and play with your children. When life gets busier, you may wish you were back in October.
Two important personal planets, Venus and Mercury, will retrograde this month. There are only three personal planets in astrology: Venus, Mercury, and Mars. (Mars is in good shape this month but will retrograde from January 10, 2027, to April 1, 2027.) These three planets are called personal planets because they orbit closest to Earth, and we feel their retrogrades in a stronger, more direct way than we do when the outer planets retrograde. The job of the personal planets is to create changes in our day-to-day experiences. The outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) present themes that arch over a much longer period thanks to their very slow orbits, and these themes allow us to craft life goals that we can work on, and eventually accomplish, over a span of years.
