Your October 2026 Horoscope for Capricorn
by Susan MillerYou value productivity and career advancement, and you expect to see steady progress, but this month will require you to have patience and perhaps take a different approach. Your solar tenth house of honors, awards, and achievements will be activated this month in a big way. In the natural chart, the tenth house is associated with Capricorn, and is said to be the house Capricorn “owns.”
This house is found at the tip-top of your solar chart, called the “midheaven,” and is ruled by Libra. Libra’s ruler is Venus, and Venus is due to go retrograde from October 3 until November 13, a period of 42 days. This will slow your progress. Venus retrograde will give you a chance to stop and think about how your career has been going and to decide if you want to make any changes to your professional strategy.
Venus does not retrograde often—only every 18 months for between 40 and 43 days. When Venus retrogrades, your career progress slows, and you are coaxed by the universe to go back to clients and colleagues you’ve not seen in a long time to see if you can find ways to work together again on a new project. It’s also a good time to review your methods and tools as well as your basic approach to your projects and tasks to see if you can come up with a better, more efficient way to work.
Venus will retrograde in Scorpio starting on October 3, but in her journey backward, Venus will slip into Libra on October 25 and will stay in Libra for the remainder of her retrograde. The first part of Venus’s retrograde in Scorpio puts Venus in your friendship house—this will be a great time to reconnect with friends. Afterward, from October 25 to November 13, focus on your work-related contacts—look for projects that may have been put aside due to lack of money or time to see if those endeavors should be dusted off and given a second look.
