Dear Reader,
Tonight I was smiling. I had finished writing all the signs and was starting to write this letter to you. My phone rang, and it was Edward, my editor-in-chief of Astrology Zone. He was reading Aquarius, and he asked, “Can you add some more to Aquarius?” I laughed and replied, “Always! Why?”
He said he felt the Aquarians needed a little more information. I dropped what I was doing and added more comprehensive information. Then I sent it to Edward, being careful to let him know just where to insert the paragraphs into the original manuscript.
This is not the first time Edward has called to add more. Two months ago he asked me to add information to Virgo, and it nearly doubled what I had originally written for them. I listen to Edward, for he is your champion—he speaks for you—and he has objectivity that I might not have at the time.
At posting time (the end of the month) Edward and I are up very late into the night, often exchanging information back and forth until dawn. (Edward is in Philadelphia, and I am in New York City.) Edward is not an astrologer, a plus in my mind, for if he cannot understand something I wrote, maybe you will feel unsure of what I said as well. I never disagree with Edward’s advice—if he feels you need more information or I need to clarify a point, I provide it. Edward has worked with me since 1999, so he knows my voice and makes sure it is not “edited out”!
September will be a strong, productive month. We just had a very powerful full moon lunar eclipse in Pisces, and some of our Pisces, Virgo, Gemini, and Sagittarian friends would have felt it if they were born early in their sign—at the end of February, August, May, or November, respectively.
The first days of September will be so quiet you could hear a pin drop. That is often the case after an eclipse—the little planets know they must not raise a ruckus to distract you from the message of the eclipse. If you did not hear any news, this eclipse could still deliver its news, delayed to appear on, or close to, the September 26 full moon. Eclipses always bring news you need as a floodlight of truth, and often your knowledge of that truth can protect you.
We are heading into two important retrogrades in October, which is why you need to hit the ground running in September. September will allow you to be highly productive, but October will bring delays and a much slower pace.
Venus will retrograde from October 3 to November 13, beginning in Scorpio and then slipping backward into Libra.
Later in the month, Mercury will also go retrograde in Scorpio, from October 24 to November 13 (the same day Venus goes direct). I explain in each of your reports what to do and what not to do under these trends.
On the bright side, we will not have to deal with Venus retrograde during this year’s holiday party time. Venus rules love, fun, luxury, and pampering, so it should be a joyous time this year.
Mercury will be fully awake by late November and through December, so holiday shopping, shipping, and travel will be enormously better than what we have experienced in previous years.

The reason I love Izak’s art is that his women have both powerful warmth and beauty, and each illustration he creates tells a story, something that many illustrators are not able to do with such grace. When I am with Izak, I work with him and look through his collection of sketches before we go to full color. I always laugh and say, “This is Izak’s world, and I want to live in it!” His excellent artwork has earned him a residency in the storied Carlyle Hotel on Madison Avenue in New York City, a great honor.
On another, more serious topic, I want to thank you for your overwhelming response to my request that you send my cousin’s friend Joyce a greeting card. For those who missed my newsletter last month, Joyce is a vibrant person who, 10 years ago, suffered a terrible automobile accident. She is now paralyzed from the chest down. She lives in Oregon in an adult home, but no one comes to visit her anymore. Her husband, who was not hurt in the tragic accident, has since died. They had no children. Her identical twin sister does not visit her at all anymore. All Joyce has is her TV and her iPhone, plus various nurses who rotate in and out.
My cousin Maria lives in San Francisco and flew up to visit her old friend. She was horrified to learn what was happening to Joyce. I immediately sent Joyce an iPad, since she does use an iPhone and can go on the Internet. I bought lots of pretty greeting cards and pre-addressed and stamped them all at once, and then send her one each week. You have asked me to print her address again, as some readers want it and can’t find it. Here it is:

It also has had quite an effect on the staff of this small adult home—they are a bit amazed and dumbfounded by the mail Joyce is getting, and now they are paying more attention to Joyce. (She has a terrible bedsore on her back, and Maria and I are trying to get it cared for quickly. Your cards are helping.)
