by Susan MillerEven though Mercury rules travel and transportation, I’ve found you CAN travel with Mercury retrograde if you stay alert and leave nothing behind in transit. However, I will say that I never actually BUY my plane ticket during a retrograde—I do that in advance of Mercury retrograde. I found if I buy it when Mercury is retrograde, I frequently need to change my return trip because there will be reasons I need to extend it for longer than I estimated. Changing a plane ticket can become expensive if done at the last minute.
The retrograde planets will be moving through your home sector, possibly affecting any home improvement plans you have or plans you are making to help a family member. There is a good side to going slow through these days—it allows you to change your mind as you think through the process. By deliberating, you will come to the choice you will feel good about.
I just went through a renovation, and I changed my mind several times about certain decisions. The choices were so new to me, and there were so many things to learn while I was keeping up with all my writing. I was doing this alone, all while getting information from my kind contractor and my designer. I am so glad that I went slowly.
In my case, the Department of Buildings (DOB) of New York City took six months to give us the green light to begin. (There is so much construction going on in New York that I am sure I was not on the top of the DOB’s list.)
Actually, losing patience, the architect who drew up the plans for my apartment took a taxi down to the DOB here in Manhattan and asked officials what was taking so long. He reminded them he had made all the small corrections they had suggested. (Every renovation requires an architect to be sure all NYC codes are being followed.)
