Your Horoscope for Virgo
by Susan MillerLet’s also look at Sunday, May 10, which should be a dazzling day when the Sun and Jupiter are in perfect sync, giving you a chance to enjoy a touch of luxury and pampering. In the US, this happens to be Mother’s Day, so you might travel to see your mom, or if you have grown children, you may visit your son or daughter and their children. Travel is written all over your chart this month, so the weekend of May 9 and May 10 could work out to be quite lovely for a trip, especially if you can’t travel over the weekend of the full moon (May 1 to May 3). You will feel the glow between Jupiter and the Sun as early as Friday, May 8, and as late as Monday, May 11.
On Tuesday, May 12, Mercury, your ruling planet in your ninth house of long-distance travel, will receive shimmering golden beams from Jupiter. This would be a superb day to sign a contract, start a book or screenplay, give a speech, judge a contest, make a presentation to an important client, or purchase an expensive item you have long hoped to buy.
Now let’s move to the new moon on May 16 in Taurus, 26 degrees, an earth sign that blends perfectly with Virgo. This new moon will appear in your ninth house—the house of adventure, discovery, philosophy, investigation, and expansive learning. The ninth house is tied very closely to foreign and distant travel because the ancient astrologers felt that traveling abroad was one of the finest ways to learn firsthand and understand the world around you.
There are other ways to expand your mind, such as through undergraduate and graduate education, both ruled by the ninth house. This house rules the taking in of specialized information but also the lively use of it through debate, as demonstrated by the courts and legal system.
