Mars retrogrades for 8 to 11 weeks every two years, and Mars rules the sharp instruments—needles or scalpels—that the doctor uses to improve your looks. I would avoid Mars retrograde, just like Venus retrograde, when you are attempting to improve your looks.
Mars, Venus, and Mercury are called the personal planets, for they are the ones that orbit closest to Earth. These are the planets we feel most strongly when retrograde.
You should never work too close to the start and end dates of any retrograde planet, for, believe it or not, the planet is at its worst when trying to regulate its orbit. Always leave a space of days around the “bookend” dates of the retrograde.
Mercury will go retrograde in October too—October 24 to November 13. That end date is the same date Venus goes direct, too. It will not be a time to sign important papers or to start a new job. Mercury will retrograde entirely in Scorpio this time, the house that rules distant domestic and international travel in your chart.
Put off buying any machine or electronic equipment during Mercury’s retrograde. You can shop in September, so if you need a car, smartphone, laptop, tablet, kitchen appliance, TV, or other item like these, get it in September, or put it off until December.
