Both planets will go direct later this month on November 13. Venus is in your financial eighth house, so money promised to you may have been delayed. If you were bidding on a job, you may have been disappointed to hear you did not win the bid. The timing was off, but December will be much better!
Mercury was retrograding in Scorpio in your ninth house of travel, another reason you may have put off travel for now.
