If you are not dating, you may have grumbled to yourself, "It'll be a cold day in February before I find someone to love." No, dear Capricorn, it could happen now, in the beautiful month of May. Of all the signs, you are the most perfectly positioned to find true love at long last. If you are attached, you too will be included in all the fuss.

On May 5, the new moon, the Sun, and Venus will be all in Taurus, and Venus will remain in this divine-for-Capricorn sign placement from May 1 to May 24. Venus will increase your charisma and make others very aware of your magnetism. It's a wonderful time to pay special attention to appearance, for certainly this month all eyes will be on you!

Attached? You'll break away from that no-frills, routine life you've been leading lately and really let rip! Your partner will be delighted! You stand a terrific chance of igniting things to epic levels, even if you've been together for years!

There's so much to celebrate! The new moon on May 5 announces this trend, so be sure to circle that date on your calendar and include the two weeks that follow it, up to May 18. Your love life should begin to glow brilliantly, so help things along by planning to circulate more if you are single. Pamper yourself too - if you have wanted to go to a Broadway show, rock concert, or that new restaurant that got such great reviews, this would be the time to indulge a little. It's also a good time to take a vacation, but this time don't try to combine business with pleasure. This trip has to be ALL pleasure!

There are several reasons this new moon is different from all others you've seen in a long, long time. This new moon and the Sun will reach out in almost perfect mathematical degree to Jupiter, now in Capricorn. You can move forward on a venture or new relationship, confident that you will have one of the most benefic planets - Jupiter - plus the new moon and Sun supporting you.

If you were born on January 5, plus or minus four days, this new moon will bring you double the pleasure. If you were born on January 10-11, Jupiter is now hovering right over your Sun, a fantastic aspect, so this month should be absolutely stunningly special for you.

In this sensational month there's even MORE on tap for you at the start of May. Imagine three people sitting in a living room. In this scene, Venus is sitting by herself in the center of the sofa, looking her most radiant, beautiful self in the sensual sign of Taurus. In front of Venus are two chairs angled toward her, to her left and right, equidistant from her and one another. In one chair is Saturn, and in the other, Pluto. If you were standing on a balcony overlooking this distinguished trio, you'd see that together these three planets form a perfect triangle.

In astrology, this formation is called a "Grand trine" and is considered the most harmonious aspect possible. That is what will happen in the sky in May, and it's as rare as it is harmonious. The energy of these three planets will flow easily to and fro among the three, in an unobstructed way. The planets can (and will) share their strengths with each other, making each of the planets stronger and more powerful. Since they are all in earth signs like yours, you will absorb this energy and these planets' benefits quite easily and naturally.

Saturn will bring you his gifts of stability, practicality, and longevity, and you can apply these qualities to a creative venture or the start (or rekindling) of a romantic relationship. The house in which Saturn is beaming rays is the fifth house, ruling both new love and creativity, as well as the birth and care of children. (More about children in a moment).

Pluto rules transformations of all kinds, much in the same way a caterpillar is transformed into a butterfly, or in the way a contestant on the TV show Biggest Loser is transformed into practically a new person (at least on the outside) when he or she loses an enormous amount of weight. We hear of "defining moments" or "major turning points" in life and those are almost always moments that Pluto has a hand in.

As you see, with Pluto, Saturn, and Venus helping you, along with Jupiter, the Sun, and new moon - and all six in earth signs - you will be in outstanding shape in May!

There is other good news about Saturn that I should add here. Saturn is your guardian planet, the one meant to take special care of you, and therefore its condition will always affect you in major ways. Saturn has been retrograde - in weakened state - since December 19. On May 2 Saturn will turn direct, and that's great news.

Perhaps you noticed that over the past few months you found it a bit harder to branch out into new areas and to make substantial progress on certain personal goals. Now, however, everything will change for the better. You will begin to move at full throttle from May 2 onward, and you'll be excited to see the difference. Obstacles will begin to fall away as you move forward with greater speed and your aim toward your target will become more accurate, too.

Pluto is currently in Capricorn, now through the coming 16 years. Obviously, Pluto is not leaving Capricorn anytime soon. This is a little like having a big, burley bouncer at your side to beat up anyone who gives you a hard time. Well, maybe not like a bouncer, but certainly you'll have the powers of a superhero nearby. If you should feel ill or find yourself in a tight financial spot, for example, you'll regenerate more quickly than you would if you didn't have Pluto to help you.

Additionally, Pluto also will drag you away from areas of your life that he deems worn out or broken, and bring you to new areas that will offer you growth and a better shot at success. Pluto never works suddenly, like Uranus would, but gradually, slowly, always works to fortify the very foundations of your life.

You may be feeling Pluto's regenerative powers now if you were born at the start of your sign, near December 21. This month's energies point to a very specific transformation - the transformational power of love and also that of having and nurturing children.

If you begin a new relationship now, it has a really good chance of being stable and built for the long road ahead. You have Jupiter in your sign too this year (until January 5, 2009). The ancients always wrote that the people you meet in the year that Jupiter transits your sign often have a very powerful effect on your future.

Many Capricorns will meet their soul mate, for this aspect is considered one of the best for that kind of meeting. Pair that aspect with this month's aspects at the new moon May 5, and Mama Mia, what a chance you have to find love! (When have I ever sounded this way?)

Attached Capricorns may have felt their love life had grown a little too dull, too comfortable and practical, but this month you'll want to throw back the shutters and let the sunshine flood in. Think of things that you and your sweetheart / mate can do together that you always used to enjoy but haven't done in ages. Enlist a babysitter or family to help if you have small children. You need and deserve fun time out, and possibly even a weekend away

Also, if you're attached, the topic of children may come up this month. If you have a child, this would be an ideal time to cook up special plans and surprises for that child, no matter what your child's age. If your child is little, you might want to give music or ballet classes or send that child to camp this summer. If the child is older, you may be helping with the selection of college, or if beyond college, with money to help your child start a business or buy a house, as only two of many possible examples.

It is alternatively possible that you may decide to welcome a new baby to your family. If it's been hard for you or your mate to conceive or carry a pregnancy, perhaps a fertility specialist may be able to help you now. This month would be the right time to get a consultation or to try for a pregnancy if you are doing in vitro fertilization.

It may help to know that the new moon in Taurus is traditionally considered one of the three most fertile new moons of the year. This one, this year, certainly outshines any I have seen in a long, long time. The other fertile new moon is always in Cancer, this year due July 2. The third one already occurred at the new moon in Pisces, March 7, but the two coming May 5 and July 2 are actually better for you.

The fifth house, so magnificently lit this month for you, also rules creativity. In May, you'll be a virtual fireball of ideas, so take time by yourself or with a collaborator to brainstorm or work on your craft. Aspects this month are simply too precious not to use to the hilt! Your ideas have an excellent chance of materializing into tangible form, much to your delight. Your chart shows your concepts are strong, so they deserve to be seen.

The romantic, social theme that is so prevalent as the month starts will continue, and possibly even reach a pinnacle point at the glorious full moon, May 19. This full moon will fall in Scorpio and send dazzling light to your house of friendship.

It appears you will have a major event to attend over the weekend of May 17-18, and it should also be romantic fun. You may go to a party or wedding, a fundraiser, charity ball, or club event, or you may go to a convention where you'll see many friends. If you were on vacation, this night would bring a really high point of the trip, and over this full moon, you will be rubbing shoulders with many other happy people.

This full moon, to be felt plus or minus four days from the date it falls on Monday, May 19, will signal both Jupiter (happiness) and Uranus (surprises), the latter now based in your travel house. You may hop in your car to visit someone (a friend, sweetheart, sibling, or cousin) in a nearby city over this weekend. It is alternatively possible you'd travel during the front part of the week of May 19 instead. You would be home fairly quickly, but it would be a joyous, memorable little trip for you. Travel would be spontaneous and unexpected, which only makes it more fun.

The only tough aspect this full moon makes is to Neptune, so you may wonder if you should spend the money to go. I feel the reason for your trip is compelling enough for you to want to participate, but due to the position of Mars that I mentioned earlier, you may want to trim costs as best you can. See if you can cleverly figure out how to go without breaking the bank.

If you were born on January 18 or within five days of this date, you will benefit doubly from this outstandingly beneficial and social new moon.

Now let's talk more about the upcoming trend for your finances, which is the only area that may prove to be a little problematic in the near future.

Mars will move into your eighth house of other people's money on May 9 to stay until June 30. This isn't the easiest place to host Mars, for it almost always forces more spending, whether because you've planned the expenditures or not. You may get a number of unexpected expenses, or you may need to buy items or make repairs you've put off for a long time.

Let's say you planned to paint your living room, and you have the painters come in to do it. While there, they see a problem with the window that you never saw, a problem that could cause a bad leak if not fixed, so you call that repairman immediately. OK. Then you move all your furniture back into the living room and notice your couch is looking a bit shabby now that the walls are so clean and bright. By happenstance, you see a really good sale on the new couch you want in the newspaper that week. You see my point: One outlay of cash often leads to another. In this example, clearly all these costly purchases are necessary, but you will see that they seem to come all at once.

Of course, it may be that you get expenses on many levels, in various areas of your life. Or, you may have the same level of outgo, but because you have less income (say, your boss won't let you volunteer for any overtime work this month, even though you always do), you may feel the pinch. I am so sorry to even suggest the possibility of a tightening financial picture. It may be a bit hard to keep control over your budget, but knowing this is coming, you might be able to prepare for it by delaying some purchases.

Actually, now that I think about it, it may easier than you suppose to space out purchases. Mercury will retrograde from May 26 to June 19, and during these phases, it's best to browse, but not buy anything expensive. Certainly, it is never a time to buy electronics, whether for yourself or as a gift for others. Have fun looking and reading the reviews of the products you are considering, but don't buy until June 22 or later. If you can buy your item from May 1 to 12, then do so, but acting any later than May 12, and you are moving into turbulent waters, for you will be coming too close to the impending Mercury retrograde.

Don't look at the start and end dates of a Mercury retrograde period too strictly, because you will feel the effects of this planet in retrograde at least two weeks before it ever goes out of phase, and you'll continue to feel the haywire effects a few days after it normalizes, too. You never want to work up too close to a Mercury retrograde period, not before, nor after.

This time Mercury will retrograde in your sixth house of day-to-day work projects. At the office, you may have to revise or redo a document or project you may have finished or have done quite a bit of work on so far. Personnel you may have hired may be on vacation during this time, too, or out ill just when you need them the most. I doubt your helpers will leave permanently, but rather for a week or two. You'd feel their absence, so be ready with backup people to call to fill in.

This may work out to be true in your personal life, too. If you have a babysitter, housekeeper, gardener, personal assistant, or bookkeeper, as a few examples, you may need to draw from your Rolodex when this trusted person can't come to help out.

The sixth house, where Mercury will retrograde, is also the house that rules the measures we take to stay healthy. You may go back to take care of a dental or medical problem you've put off. For instance, you may decide to take out the wisdom tooth that your dentist told you will eventually give you difficulties, or you may finally go to get advice for a stiff shoulder or wrist. There are many possible examples. Mercury retrograde wants you to get closure, which is always good!

I will admit that I am not a fan of having an operation during Mercury retrograde, although people do and often have no problems. If you are in desperate need of an operation, of course, I say have it! Dental procedures seem to be OK too, if they are not too complicated.

Dear Capricorn, your personal life will glow so brightly this month that you should not let any of these little things cross your mind. May is a truly extraordinary month, filled with love, romance, and fun with children, as well as opportunities to see friends, to be outstandingly creative, and to travel short distances. The warmth of this stellar month will more than make up for any little ripples in the stream. If ever there were a month for you, this will be it!

Summary

Your life is transforming before your eyes these days. With Pluto and Jupiter protecting you staunchly, go ahead - take a risk. You have a comfortable margin for error these days, so if you fall over, just dust yourself off and stand up again - nothing tragic will happen. That's the beauty of having Jupiter and Pluto in Capricorn these days.

You are one of the zodiac's hardest workers, but this month the universe is blowing soft, tender breezes into your window, heightening the possibility you'll experience romance, fun, and love. Once you get a day or two beyond the new moon on May 5 you should start to see your love life beat to a whole new rhythm.

With Saturn being marvelously friendly too, if single and smitten with someone new this month, your budding relationship could blossom into something very strong and long lasting in time.

Venus will stay in fellow earth sign Taurus and light your house of true love from the start of the month until May 23. Venus makes you irresistible and helps you find many more social venues to mix and mingle. It's the perfect time to see about improving your looks.

You'll need to look your best at the event you'll be attending over the weekend of May 17-18 or in the beginning of the following week, May 19-21. It may be a wedding, graduation, fundraiser, political event, special dinner, or luncheon. Whatever you will attend, this event will put you in the center of many adoring, friendly faces. This will certainly be a high profile event, and one you'll enjoy to the fullest.

Are there any little clouds in the Capricorn sky this bright and sunny May? Perhaps one. Mars will tour your financial sector from May 10 to June 30. During that time you will see expenses rise rapidly, but will be unlike the more difficult aspects you experienced in this same area of your chart from 2005 to 2007. This trend, thankfully, will be a lot shorter and less severe, and will be easier to manage. Still, you may have disagreements with someone over money (your ex perhaps, or a business partner), and if so, you'll need all receipts and figures to back up your position.

Knowing your balances on your credit cards are likely to rise steeply from May 9 through June 30, you may want to put off until later expensive purchases that aren't absolutely necessary. By late June or July, things should normalize again, but only if you've been vigilant earlier.

There's another reason to put off purchases. Mercury will be retrograde from May 26 to June 19, never a good time to purchase expensive things. In fact, try to leave as much space as possible around this period, for the start and end dates are the hardest, when Mercury will act like a little Dennis the Menace.

What is the Movie Preview Awards? It's a Hollywood awards show for the very best movie previews (also called trailers) of the year, in various categories, such as Best Comedy, Best Thriller, Best Documentary and so forth. The organizers have a great sense of humor, and they have other categories like, "Trashiest Trailer" (you can imagine what that would be) and the "Golden Fleece Award" for the trailer that shows so much of the movie, you no longer actually have to leave the house to see it. We all know about THOSE!

You can now watch the Movie Preview Awards on MYNetworkTV. (This network used to be UPN and before that, WPIX (in New York City. It is a regular network, not a cable network.) The show will air on Memorial Day, on Monday, May 26 at 8:00 PM. Check www.MyNetworkTV.com for local listings.

I love the entertaining style of this event - talented comics hand out the awards, and often their quips are hilarious. I have actually been attending this show in person every year for the past eight years because I love to go to the movies, and I love this particular award show. Until a few years ago, this has been a kind of insider event where friends would have to tell you about it via their Blackberries and help you get a ticket to get inside the velvet rope. Now, I am happy to say, the rest of the world is beating a path to their door and actually opening up this event to the global village via television for the first time. For now, it will only be aired in America, but give it time - it may be coming to your corner of the world soon.

The show Movie Preview Awards, also called the Golden Trailer Awards, is a show run by two great young women who happen to be sisters, Evelyn and Monica Brady. They are both passionate about film, and this, their baby, is now growing up and getting lots of deserved attention. As an aside, I found out Monica and Evie have been avid readers of Astrology Zone® for 12 years! We love that!
