I am just coming off attending the United Astrology Conference in Chicago where I met so many astrologers from all over the world – Turkey, Brazil, China, Japan, Canada, England, Australia, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, and of course the United States.
The clubs based in the United States that come together to form the UAC Conference include the National Council for Geocosmic Research (NCGR), International Society for Astrologic Research (ISAR), American Federation of Astrologers (AFA), and Association for Astrological Networking (AFAN). These clubs do a service to the community to educate astrologers and also to give tests to bestow accreditation. I received my accreditation from ISAR.
This is an event that takes place every five years, for the four major clubs of astrology listed above come together to have a huge event, with many teachers and attendees. I didn’t teach this year, for I like to listen to other astrologers’ views. Although I spent a lot of time in my room writing Astrology Zone because UAC took place at the end of the month, May 24-30, I still had fun. The warm feeling I have now, thinking back over the past week, is that I made so many new friendships, and we are all united in our enthusiasm for astrology.
I am busy like you are, so when many people say to me that they do not join groups, I understand. I have so little free time too, as you might imagine. Still, I want to urge you to consider joining one of the astrological clubs in your city, if only to get their fascinating newsletters and articles.
At a time when the world seemed fractured, we felt such warmth of unity and friendship. We felt as though we had met each other before, even though we had not. I want you to experience the same joy I am feeling now, for I reconnected with friends I have not seen in a long time, and made new friends based in so many cities of the world. For me, the world got much smaller this week, and that was a cozy feeling indeed.
