A Note from Susan Miller – August 2018

August will be a month in contrasts. On one hand, with two retrograde planets, Mars and Mercury, the month will proceed slowly. There is no use in trying to push your favorite projects forward, for your efforts won’t work and you will just get more frustrated.

All planets go retrograde, but the three that orbit closest to earth, namely Mercury, Venus, and Mars, are the ones we feel the most strongly when retrograde. Now that Mars and Mercury are napping, you will do best by looking back to examine how things have gone so far for you this year.

Retrograde periods are perfect for reflection, and for thinking about what changes you would like to make in the second half of 2018. They are also perfect times to be in touch with people who have supported you through all times, and for telling them you are grateful to have them in your life. Reconnecting is a very happy experience during a retrograde.

The full moon this month, August 26, will be one of the best, most supportive full moons of the year, and it will fall in Pisces. Be sure to note how it will affect you – this one is sweet as sugar.

Thank you for all your good wishes for my surgery on my leg. I am doing so great, and as I said on Twitter, I am so giddy, it’s like being given a new leg and I walk a lot now in my home city of New York City.

In case you are thinking about taking an exciting vacation, I wrote a piece for Yahoo Lifestyles, and chose a different location for every sign – I hope you will check out your Sun sign, and if you know it, your rising sign, too. I worked with travel editor and expert Lindsay Tigar who was a joy to work with. My story is new and appeared this week on Yahoo, and I hope you enjoy it.
