Your May 2025 Horoscope for Virgo
by Susan Miller
This has not been an easy year by anyone’s standards. The year started out with a slew of retrogrades of the “personal planets,” namely, Mercury, Mars, and Venus, which are the fastest moving planets in our solar system. These planets orbit closest to Earth, so we all feel their weak retrogrades more sharply than when the outer planets retrograde.
It was unusual to see each planet start its retrograde as another planet ended theirs with no breathing room in between. We rely on these planets to help us become productive on a day-to-day basis, but since they were all taking time off, we had to fill in the energy that they were not sending us.
Mercury retrogrades a lot, three times a year, but Mars only goes retrograde every two years, and Venus every 18 months, so we are not as familiar with those planets taking resting holidays. You may have found that, as hard as you tried (in any phase of your life), being productive required a lot of effort. It was two steps forward and one step back, over and over. The fact that Mars and Pluto were having an adversarial relationship reaching back to November didn’t help matters at all. That frustration is now over!
As soon as the last planet ended its retrograde, however, each of the planets still had to get themselves back to full strength—Mercury resumed full strength on April 26, Mars will become fully robust by May 2, and Venus will fully recalibrate her strength by May 16.
On top of all this, we had two eclipses in March that required adjustment, and one of those eclipses was in Virgo (March 13). After that, as you see in this report, we had to deal with two grumpy lunations, the first on April 27 and the second on May 12. By the time you reach the end of the month, you might feel like you’ve climbed Mt. Everest. However, by May 26 we will reach the promised land!
