Your May 2025 Horoscope for Scorpio

Lately you’ve had to deal with a slew of retrogrades of the personal planets: Mercury, Mars, and Venus. These are the planets that orbit closest to earth, and they’re the ones we feel the most when retrograde. Mercury was the first to turn retrograde (from November 25 to December 15), making the holiday shopping season of 2024 harder than usual. Meanwhile, more concerning was that your ruler Mars, the high energy action planet, also went retrograde in the same month, from December 6, 2024, to February 23, 2025. The minute Mars stopped retrograding, Venus, who rules your partnerships and collaborations, went retrograde from March 1 to April 12. In the same month, Mercury went retrograde again from March 15 to April 7. Was there to be no relief?
The other complication is that a planet does not instantly become strong and powerful the minute it goes direct. It needs time to rejuvenate and to work its way back to being as strong as it was prior to the retrograde. So even though all three of these planets turned direct, we still had to wait for them each to restore themselves.
Mercury became strong and robust again on April 26. Venus made it back to full power on May 16, and Mars reaches full strength on May 2. You’ve had a barrage of headwinds to deal with, and making progress was really difficult during these retrogrades. In this same period, both of your rulers Mars and Pluto were in opposition to one another, which didn’t help.
Thankfully, the avalanche of retrogrades of the personal planets is over. Mars will not retrograde again for two years, and Venus will not be retrograde again for 18 months.
We always have to deal with Mercury, but by now you have likely devised little ways to cope with him because he retrogrades three times a year for three and a half weeks each time. Unlike the other two planets, we have plenty of experience with Mercury. The next retrograde will happen from July 17 to August 11, a time many people go on vacation. You can travel during Mercury retrograde—as long as you’re careful about keeping track of your belongings (Apple air tags inside your luggage are a must) and checking on accommodations.
