Your Horoscope for Scorpio

by Susan Miller

Venus’s and Mercury’s periods out of phase next month would not be the time to ask for a raise, negotiate a financial deal, or ask for an adjustment to your salary. Don’t sign contracts (or ask your clients to sign them) while Mercury is in retrograde. I know this is depressing news. We are all in this together, and I am with you. The planets we feel most strongly when retrograde are the ones that orbit closest to earth: Mercury, Venus, and Mars. Jupiter comes next in the lineup, but thankfully, good-fortune Jupiter will go direct this month on February 4 and stay strong until mid-November of this year. Greatness!

Now let’s discuss the full moon on February 12 in Leo, 24 degrees, which will be a challenging one for just about everyone of every zodiac sign. This full moon in Leo will fall in your solar tenth house of career honors, awards, and achievement.

At any full moon, the Sun is found 180 degrees away. In this case, you will have the full moon in Leo, 24 degrees, and the Sun in Aquarius, also at 24 degrees. The problem is that Uranus, the planet of all things unexpected and unpredictable, will be in Taurus at 23 degrees. This will put pressure on both the full moon and Sun because Uranus is in the center of these two luminaries, and the resulting tension will put your nerves on edge.

You won’t see what is coming, and there is not much you can do to prepare for it. I suppose the universe wants to teach us all the need to be resourceful and imaginative when conditions require us to turn on a dime. Keep your schedule as light as possible so that you can move in any direction. It looks like a partner or collaborator will be the problem—someone you depend on and work with closely. Tension will be evident at work, where the full moon in Leo will be based, and this may force a situation to come to a head. This feeling will also be evident on the home front, where the Sun will be based. And, as said, in the precise center between the two luminaries will be surprise-a-minute Uranus, applying equal pressure to both the full moon and the Sun.

This will create two harsh 90-degree squares in a configuration that astrologers call a T-square. Uranus will be square the Sun on one side and square the full moon on the other. You will be concerned that everything is humming along at home and at the same time a chaotic situation could be shaping up at work. All three—the Sun, full moon, and Uranus—are in fixed signs (Aquarius, Leo, and Taurus, respectively). Fixed signs tend to stick to their own positions and not want to compromise.

If you have small children, line up babysitting help from several sources to be sure you are well covered with people you trust if you need it quickly. You will be distracted, and your career reputation will depend on you finding a solution to what is going on.
