Your Horoscope for Scorpio

Often in life, things remain the same, and it seems like life will always be as it is now, constant and stable. That is an illusion, for the planets are always on the move, and every so often we are presented with new situations. That’s the case this month and in May.

You have two rulers, your ancient ruler Mars and your modern ruler Pluto. Modern astrologers look at both planets to assess where your focus will be. Remarkably, both planets have recently changed signs, so those shifts will be reflected in your life, too.

Let’s start with Pluto, the slower moving of your two ruling planets. A slow-moving planet stays in one house of the horoscope a long time, and therefore can make an indelible impression. Pluto rarely changes signs because Pluto is the outermost planet in our solar system, taking 248 years to circle the Sun. Let’s contrast that with Mars, your other ruler, which circles the Sun in two years.

In March Pluto moved into Aquarius but for only a brief period, for he will retreat back into Capricorn on June 11, then return permanently to Aquarius on January 20, 2024, where he’ll stay until January 19, 2044—a whopping 20 years. The move of Pluto into Aquarius will place a greater priority on domestic life in your future, both in terms of the people who comprise your immediate family (including your parents), as well as your physical home space and any other property you might own, rent, or want to sell.
