A Note from Susan Miller
August will be a month in contrasts. On one hand, with two retrograde planets, Mars and Mercury, the month will proceed slowly. There is no use in trying to push your favorite projects forward, for your efforts won’t work and you will just get more frustrated.
All planets go retrograde, but the three that orbit closest to earth, namely Mercury, Venus, and Mars, are the ones we feel the most strongly when retrograde. Now that Mars and Mercury are napping, you will do best by looking back to examine how things have gone so far for you this year.
Your Horoscope by Susan Miller
After months of working very hard, you will be able to take the month slow and easy. You will be extremely busy later this year, so take the time you need to rest. No breaking news is about to happen in your life just yet.
Mars is spending a lot of time in your twelfth house, suggesting you are working on one or more projects that are not ready yet to show to your adoring public. You may already know that as a Pisces, you do your best work in solitude, so although you love to be with friends, you need equal time alone to think, reflect, and create.
Mars, which gives oomph and push to all endeavors, went retrograde on June 25 and won’t awaken until August 27. This is not the time to start a new product or service, to take a new job, or to begin an advertising campaign or any other major initiative. If you do launch something new, your timing would be in conflict with the rhythm of the universe. Any retrograde planet will ask you to look back and analyze how things have been going. Study your close relationships and endeavors that are personal and ones you do for work. See if you can improve those projects or relationships. At work, test the correctness of your strategy and check to see if your assumptions have been correct.
Mars is the natural ruler of your second house of income. You seem to have checks due you that are held up, but this is temporary. It could be that people are on vacation, or because you’ve been working so hard, you’ve not had the time to send out bills. No matter, by month’s end you will see the pace pick up and the checks will gradually begin to come.
A retrograde planet will not become robust and alive instantly, the day it goes direct. Mars will take until October 8 to come back to his former strength. Even so, by September you will see a gratifying change, for Mars will be helpful to you by then – you won’t need to get to October 8 to begin. I recommend you put a gold star on September 11, due to be a stellar day for you to sign contracts or launch something new.
If having the Red Planet in lackadaisical slow motion weren’t frustrating enough, little Mercury went retrograde too a month later, just recently on July 25, and will go direct on August 18. You must not sign any contracts, nor give your verbal agreement either, for in astrology, your words are just as binding as a signature.
