Your May 2025 Horoscope for Libra
by Susan MillerOne of the reasons I am so excited about this new moon is that it will open a door for a flow of sparkling aspects for 2025. Finally, you can make plans and have a reasonable expectation of success. There won’t be nearly as much backtracking. This new moon will change the entire energy of 2025, turning it from dull to bright.
We did not have an easy start to the year. It started back in November 2024 when Mercury went retrograde from November 25 to December 15. Mars then overlapped with Mercury retrograde and went retrograde from December 6 until February 23. Then on March 1, Venus shut down for a nap and did not awaken until April 12. Mercury then went retrograde again from March 15 to April 7. We’ve had to be patient because no planet is strong the minute it turns direct—it needs time to regain its strength. Mercury returned to full power on April 26. Mars will reach robust form on May 2. Venus will do the same on May 16.
We were not used to having Mars and Venus missing in action—Mars retrogrades every two years, and Venus turns backward every 18 months. Mercury, of course, goes retrograde every three months for three and a half weeks, so we are used to Mercury’s habits (sooner or later we find strategies to deal with Mercury). But with all three “personal planets” retrograde (the ones that orbit closest to Earth are the ones that are most noticeable when out of phase), it may have seemed to you that everything was taking too long to accomplish (if anything could be accomplished at all). We all took two steps forward and one step back. It is not normal or usual for one retrograde planet to follow the other so tightly.
We had eclipses in March on March 13 in Virgo and on March 29 in Aries, and eclipses usually require adjustment since they sometimes uproot us. The Aries eclipse was the last one in the Aries-Libra family that had been happening for two years every six months. Now that the eclipses in Libra and Aries have cleared out for you, you will not see an eclipse in your sign for nine years. You can now rest.
