January 2022

Dear Reader,

Happy New Year! This will be a much better year than 2020 and its twin, 2021. You have so much to look forward to this year! Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, just entered Pisces a few days ago on December 29. Jupiter will stay in Pisces until May 10, giving all the water signs and the earth signs reason to cheer.

After May 10, Jupiter will enter Aries, to stay until October 27, and then retreat back to Pisces for a second shot at luck, until December 20, 2022. After December 20, Jupiter will be back to Aries, to stay until May 2023! This will give Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius amazing good fortune. As you see EVERYONE has reason to be excited about the New Year. Everyone will be receiving chocolates from Jupiter.

Your January Horoscope for Libra

The holidays may be over, but the spirit of closeness to your family will remain in you like a lovely tune you hear playing in the background. Think about what you need to do to improve your home. Do you need more space and want to move to a larger apartment or house? Would you like to rent or buy a summer vacation cottage in a pretty setting? Do you love your current space but would like to put in a new kitchen? Do you need repairs? Whatever is on your living quarter dream list could be attended to now.

You won’t have to wait long to see results—January 2 brings the new moon in Capricorn, 12 degrees, to light your fourth house of family and home. This new moon will work hard to help you see the result in the weeks and months to come, for it will open a portal of opportunity for fresh, home-related options for you to investigate. If you have been concerned about the health or welfare of a parent, this new moon will help you find solutions for your parent too, whether it be hiring a specialist or an aid to live with your mother in her home, an assisted living situation, or to simply help your father set up auto-pay on his computer for routine, monthly bill paying from his bank account.

If you hope to move, with planets in Capricorn, you are likely to move into an older, valuable building—it may be deemed a landmark—and you will love the quality materials that were used to build the structure. If you are young and hope to find the right roommate to live with you, start looking after that new moon arrives, but go slowly and be patient. Doing a background check on the person you are considering is always a good idea, and that will help you stretch out the search. I will tell you why this is important to do in a moment.

The part I love about this new moon, January 2, is that Uranus will cheerfully send unexpected news related to home and family matters, and it should show up within days after that new moon arrives. Keep checking your cell phone, emails, and texts—something is likely to come up to help you solve a major question, quite out of the blue, perhaps after you have given up ever finding a solution. Of course, you must do your part by showing the universe your intent this month and redoubling your efforts to solve your quest. This month the universe will give you sudden help that you don’t expect.

Meanwhile, Mars keeps moving through Sagittarius, continuing a journey he started on December 13. With Mars in Sagittarius, a sign that blends beautifully with yours, you have been—and continue to be—interested in traveling and getting to a new setting and, perhaps, gaining a new perspective. Your third house is being activated, and that rules short trips, so while it is not likely you will be heading overseas, you will go to a location you can get to within a day. The third house, being energized, rules siblings and cousins, so you may be traveling to see a person you love so much.

You’ve been shuttered within your home for so long, you may not have been on an airplane since just before the pandemic struck, so you might feel liberated to get away now. Even so, with the pandemic spreading and cancellations building at airports, you will need to be careful.

Your career will bring news at the full moon in Cancer, 28 degrees, on January 17, plus or minus five days. This full moon could bring a promotion, a new job, or a victory to a project you’ve been working on lately. You only get one full moon in your tenth house of honors, awards, and achievement, so this one is important.

You may have a contract or lease to sign, or you may be closing on your house, but you need to know that both Venus and Mercury will be retrograde this month. Venus is your ruling planet, which is why it is important to watch what Venus is doing, for when your ruler is retrograde, it’s harder to score a victory. It’s not impossible, but it is noticeably harder to grasp the prize you want. Venus started to retrograde on December 19 and will end its retrograde on January 29.

Venus also happens to rule your solar eighth house of other people’s money, so that house will feel Venus’ out of phase, too. If you need a mortgage, home improvement loan, car loan, venture capital for your start-up, or other sponsorship, it might take a little longer than you expect to get the approval. That’s why it would be better to get pre-approved before you find the house or condominium you hope to buy. If you’re going to rent, a simple credit check will be easier to get approved, assuming all is in apple-pie order. If you have been waiting for an insurance company to pay you for a claim you’ve put in, it will take longer than it should take, until after January 29.

There is another complication—Venus’ little brother Mercury will also go retrograde this month, from January 14 to February 3. Therefore, I feel it would be best to delay closing on a house from January through early February. It would be best to hold off making any binding agreements—verbally or with your signature. You will be concentrating on your home, and you may be tempted to buy a new TV or kitchen appliance like a dishwasher or refrigerator (as two examples). Buying electronic items in January—even a car, which these days has lots of electronic features—would not be wise. Sit tight, dear Libra. You will be glad you did.

I have one last word about Venus retrograde before I leave the subject. Venus doesn’t retrograde that often, so you may not have much experience with this lovely, lyrical planet. She rules beauty, luxury, fun, and love—also, profits. It would not be the time to introduce a new product that is to be marketed mainly to women in January. Don’t launch your advertising, promotion, or social media campaign if the product is mainly for women, hold off until February.

Again, Uranus will be active on January 17, plus or minus four days, but this time, Uranus will reach out to Venus, currently transiting your house of family and home. Uranus is in your house of other people’s money, so if you had problems getting your bank or another lender to be helpful to you, at the time of the full moon that may change for the better. I am not sure if you go to a different bank, sponsor, or lender, or the same one, but one way or another, you seem to manage a breakthrough and get the money you need.

Again, the news will be unexpected and positive, even though Venus will still be retrograde at the time. Neptune, the planet of imagination, will be in ideal angle to the full moon, so the project that comes to fullness—and that gets you applause—will likely allow you to add your touch of creativity.

When Mars leaves Sagittarius, you won’t be traveling as much, but instead, you’ll focus again on your home-related goal. I am not sure how much Venus retrograde will hold up your ability to move forward in early January. The new moon is very powerful on January 2 and can affect you for six months. Nevertheless, if you should encounter an obstacle in capturing your new apartment or house, or in any way are impeded with going ahead with any other home or family matter, Mars will help you by entering Capricorn, your fourth house of home, from January 24 to March 6.

As you see, you should stay optimistic. When it comes to home and family matters, you are golden.

Next month will be all about love. You have spectacular aspects, and Valentine’s Day should be all you hoped it to be, for it is looking to be mighty special.

It seems you have been looking for an apartment or a house for a while, but you have not yet found your dream home. You might want to look the minute you enter this month, for this month is different—you have a superb chance of finding a space you love. The new moon on January 2 and the weeks to follow will be your golden time to look in 2022. This new moon will receive an exciting, friendly beam from Uranus, so you may hear of a new space quite suddenly and unexpectedly.

You might not hear of the space through your real estate broker—instead, you might find your dream space from a tip from a friend or family member. All home and family questions can be solved in January or February, your best two months to search with a spirit of determination. Your next window of opportunity will arrive in mid-July of 2022, but you won’t have the powerful set of aspects you will have now. In January and February, you may have great luck if you look.

In January, consider creating a comfortable home office so you can work there most of the time when at home. Your home sector is lit up like Times Square. Home will be a lucky part of your life where most of the good news, and profits, will emanate this month.

Once Mars enters Capricorn, January 24 to March 6, you will be even more motivated to search for the right answers to home and family-related questions. Mars will fill your home and family area with light and energy, so February is sure to be a highly productive time, along with the first week of March, for settling all you hope to do.

Venus will be retrograde through most of January, a trend that started December 19 and will end on January 29. If you encounter a plethora of delays, take it all in stride. You will get cancellations, so use that extra time to think through your plans for 2022. See if you can find alternative ways to get to your goal. Venus will go retrograde in your home sector, so that is where you will see many of the holdups to progress. Delays will benefit you, so go with them. If you are faced with a roadblock with your bank or another lender, don’t assume that’s it, and you won’t go any further—you will get help at the full moon, January 17, plus or minus four days. You won’t see this coming, and it will thrill you when it arrives.

As a sidebar, Venus rules beauty and luxury, so Venus retrograde is not the time to schedule changes to your appearance. Do not have Botox or fillers, have veneers put on your teeth, or make any dramatic changes in your hairstyle. It’s fine to have trims and touch-ups in hair color, but it is not the time to do more radical moves as you might not like the changes.

On top of Venus retrograde, Venus’ brother Mercury will begin to retrograde too, from January 14 to February 3. This means it would not be wise to close on a house or condo or to sign a lease—Mercury rules agreements, and when retrograde, Mercury withholds its greatest powers. Later, you might find something you were not told and perhaps regret moving into the space, or you could find you have to make repairs you were never told you might need to do.

If you receive furniture deliveries while Mercury is retrograde, be home to examine the pieces before the deliverymen leave, for there could be damage. You would need to point this out on the spot, not later. Let’s hope all arrive in top condition.

The full moon on January 17 will be an important one for you, shining at the very pinnacle point in your chart. At this time of the month, your attention will switch to your career, and you may be celebrating a professional victory. Your profile will be high in your industry, and you may be invited to give an interview to the press to discuss recent successes. Neptune will be in fine support of the full moon, fueling your imagination and creativity in everything you do.

On the heels of this January 17 full moon, Uranus will go direct, January 18, and this is good news for you, for this planet of surprise rules your fifth house of true love. If you are single and wondering why your social life has been languishing, you now know that Uranus retrograde has been at the core of the problem.

If you are in a committed relationship or marriage and wish things would become more vibrant, you have a good chance of seeing things change for the better. Uranus has been asleep in retrograde since August 19, so you should start to see lovely developments after January 18—almost immediately. If you hope to conceive a baby and have been met with disappointment, that may now change. In all ways, things are getting better and better for you.

When it comes to love, February will be positively glorious, and that also includes a sweet, loving Valentine’s Day in store for you.
