Your Horoscope by Susan Miller
Because so many planets have been in Capricorn since the very start of 2020, the solar house that contains Capricorn in your chart was meant to be a major focus for months to come. In January you had six out of ten heavenly bodies in Capricorn, the most you can have in one sign. You have Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in Capricorn all year, and in January you also had Mercury, your ruler, in Capricorn until January 16, along with the Sun and Mars (from February 16 to March 30).
Then the eclipses started in Capricorn and Cancer—and these signs highlight your two financial houses, with extra emphasis on your eighth house of other people’s money. This financial house is not like your second house, which covers personal money such as salary, savings, and possessions. For you, the house that is ruled by Capricorn is the eighth house that governs commissions, royalties, divorce and other court settlements, child support, venture capital, taxes and tax refunds, insurance payouts, scholarships, university financial aid, government stimulus programs, cash advances, and prize winnings as some examples.
The first eclipses in Cancer and Capricorn started back in July 2018 and came by every five-and-a-half months. The most recent eclipses happened on December 25, 2019, and two weeks later on January 10, 2020. Now we have the very last eclipse in the Cancer-Capricorn series—a full moon lunar eclipse in Capricorn on July 4-5. You will not have another one in either of these signs again until 2027 to 2029. You saw a preview of what is to come, as an eclipse in Sagittarius arrived last month on June 5, followed by the solar eclipse in Cancer on June 21. After this month, the eclipses won’t be focused on your money.
In case you’re curious, we will have a full moon lunar eclipse in Gemini on November 30 and a solar new moon eclipse on December 14. Eclipses are the universe’s favorite way to create change. Eclipses push us forward, and there is no turning back or undoing them.
The July 4-5 eclipse in Cancer at 14 degrees has some good aspects along with some difficult ones. Mars in Aries will be in hard angle to the Sun and full moon, suggesting emotions will run high, and there could be a disagreement over a payment—either money promised to you (and perhaps not delivered) or money that you owe. If you are in the process of a complicated divorce or splitting with a business partner at the end of a deal, expect a fight because Saturn in opposition to the Sun is no joke, and it’s even more overwhelming to see that Pluto will also oppose the Sun. The person you’re dealing with may reveal an ugly side that shocks you, which is why you might need an extra-sharp lawyer to protect you. Money is absolutely the topic, and it’s clear someone will be taking a hard line. It could be a lender or even the government, or it might be someone who owes you but is making every ridiculous excuse in the book not to pay.
Keep in mind that the positive aspects at the July 4-5 eclipse are substantial, and this will give you confidence. Uranus, planet of surprise, will signal the Sun and full moon, bringing shimmering beams that will help you in the eleventh hour, just when you may have given up hope. You won’t be expecting what happens, and it will put a smile on your face. This is the very best aspect at the eclipse and the tightest, mathematically. That tightness of degree matters quite a bit. Your third and ninth houses will sparkle, so any work that involves writing, editing, translation, coding, and research will do especially well for you now.
There is another favorable aspect, but it’s wide, and that means it’s a bit weak. Nevertheless, it gives me hope there will be a good outcome for you. This July 4-5 full moon lunar eclipse is at 14 degrees of Capricorn, and Jupiter in Capricorn is at 23 degrees. I wish the two were closer, but since Jupiter orbits a little later, the moon will eventually catch up with him, so if someone does owe you money, you may get it sooner than you anticipate.
Venus is in Gemini now, meaning others will respond to your charm in all matters. Venus will stay in Gemini until August 7, so you will have plenty of time to enjoy being her favorite. You may want to order new clothes, as they will make you look and feel like a million dollars.
Mars just moved into your eleventh house of friendship and community activity, so you will be circulating with friends, but perhaps only over Zoom. You have a rare chance to expand your influence on social media in a big way, so make that a goal if it appeals to you. This visit from Mars is unusual because it will remain in this house for a long time. Usually, Mars stays six weeks in any one sign (or house), but this time he will remain for six months, from June 27, 2020, to January 6, 2021.
This part of your chart will not only help you meet new people and make new friends (even with social distancing), but Mars will also give you the impetus to join a charity, humanitarian, or political effort. You may work to help a candidate you believe in get elected or help a charitable cause raise awareness and funds. Mars will be strong because he is in Aries, a fire sign ruled by Mars, and fire blends beautifully with your air sign element of Gemini.
Your eleventh house, where Mars will circulate, rules other areas, too. If you’re self-employed, the eleventh house governs the profit you will make from work completed weeks or months earlier. If you worked hard and astutely, you may see a substantial payment for your efforts. However, keep in mind that there appears to be some push-pull from a domineering, difficult person who will assume that this money belongs mostly to them and will give you a hard time when it comes time to dividing it and giving you your dues.
If your birthday falls on June 4, plus or minus five days, you will rise above any stress you might feel and will ultimately do well. The same is true if you have Gemini rising at 14 degrees, your natal moon in Gemini, or a natal planet in Gemini, Libra, Aquarius, Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius at 14 degrees—plus or minus four degrees in all cases.
I should mention that on the flip side at the time of the eclipse, Mars will be in especially hard angle to Mercury, the planet that rules your Gemini Sun, and that’s another signal there will be a kerfuffle over finances. Mercury’s job it is to take good care of you, but at the start of this month, he’s too sleepy to be his usual helpful self. Indeed, Mercury will be weak as the month opens since he will be retrograde—a holdover from June 17—and will turn direct on July 12.
Mercury rules the moving parts in machines and all electronics. This means you need to wait before you buy items such as a new computer, smart phone, toaster oven, air conditioner, or refrigerator. Mercury also rules intelligent conversation, negotiation, and agreements, so it’s not a good time to sign paperwork. Wait until after July 12 to do so. Mercury is in Cancer right now, so expect late payments, and make contingency plans to cover expenses in case this happens. Jupiter, the planet of good fortune, is in your money house and this will help, but Jupiter will also be weak in retrograde until September 12. Keep standing up for yourself, remind clients to pay, and have the inner confidence that you will prevail.
As if this isn’t enough emphasis on money, you will get a second new moon in a row in Cancer, which also highlights money. The new moon this month will arrive on July 20 at 28 degrees Cancer (not an eclipse). This new moon will emphasize your personal money, just as the new moon solar eclipse of June 21 did last month. This month, the news will be harder to take and the atmosphere more challenging than last month’s new moon solar eclipse, which was also in Cancer. All new moons open a fresh path, but unlike the June 21 eclipse, this new moon on July 20 seems to bring turbulent aspects with it, making nothing exactly easy. It should deliver you an opportunity to make more money, but when you hear the client’s list of duties or expectations, you may wonder if you should take the job at all. This would be a physically draining position, so decide carefully. I describe the conditions as being strenuous or tough because Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn will directly oppose this July 20 new moon in Cancer, plus two weeks.
Instead of a new job, you may be dealing with someone who owes you money, you may owe someone else money, or you may be seeking sponsorship or venture capital. Saturn often acts like a crusty, cold, unemotional planet and will likely be hard-nosed. If you are simply trying to recover money that’s owed to you, Saturn may force you to live up to a new or previously made contract or verbal agreement, even if your adversary has twisted the truth into something unrecognizable. This means you will have to guard against quite a powerful and forceful response. When you think about it later on, it might appear that the other side is acting desperate and fighting over every little crumb. You may need a lawyer to help defend your position. The force of this pushback will surprise you, but the unseemly character of the person you’re dealing with will shock you even more. If you’re hoping to receive decent benefits, such as a stellar health insurance policy or stock equity in a startup firm, that doesn’t seem possible now—or if it is, the terms won’t be attractive this month.
Uranus and Mercury will still be in beautiful harmony, which is a blessing for you, as Mercury rules Gemini. Someone powerful will help you in this financial situation at the eleventh hour, just when you may have almost given up. Mercury is in your second house of money, and Uranus is in your behind-the-scenes sector, so you might never know who was sympathetic to your cause and came to your aid. If you do find out the identity of this kind person, you will have to keep it a secret. Clearly, they understand what’s going on and can see there is some unfairness at play. However, Mars, planet of war, will still be angry with Mercury, so there will be some commotion around you, and it will surely be about money. You will experience an entire spectrum of emotions, but I feel you will land sunny-side up, despite all the tensions.
I love that Jupiter and Neptune will be in magnificent harmony, a strong feature of 2020, as this doesn’t happen often. Neptune is in your solar tenth house of honors, awards, and achievement, and Jupiter is in your solar eighth house of other people’s money. The brilliant performance you’ve put in previously will be obvious now, and that has to be acknowledged. If you are in a creative field, you will be especially favored, as Neptune rules the arts, music, and other artistic expressions. I feel this is another clue that suggests you will prevail. Have faith, dear Gemini. I know it’s hard because eclipses shine a bright light on a subject to reveal certain truths you had not been privy to before. Once you have that extra piece of the puzzle on July 4-5, you will understand the situation in a new, enlightened way.
Jupiter and Neptune will make a sextile (an aspect of opportunity) on July 27, but in truth, these two planets will be in significant closeness all year. Right now, both are retrograde (along with Saturn, Pluto, and for the first half of July, Mercury)—the reason you will find making progress so hard. This gorgeous aspect will be in place all year, as both planets move very slowly. They will make another sextile later this year on October 12, and both will be moving in direct speed at that time.
Venus is in Gemini now, meaning others will respond to your charm in all matters. Venus was retrograde from May 12 to June 24, so thankfully, Venus is now ramping up to her regular, healthy speed. Venus will stay in Gemini until August 7, so you will have plenty of time to enjoy being her favorite. You may want to order new clothes, as they will make you look and feel like a million dollars.
Last month required adjustments as the June 5 eclipse was in your opposite sign of Sagittarius, meaning you were—and maybe still are—thinking about your significant other, in love or business. Life is changing, and it appears you are about to find a new source of income, if you haven’t already. One may have appeared just after the new moon solar eclipse of June 21.
Eclipses are the most dramatic way the universe goes about creating progress. At the time of an eclipse, sometimes things may seem chaotic (depending on the unique properties of your natal chart), but in the long run, eclipses shake us out of our comfort zone so we can try something new, because we often have no other choice.
A third eclipse—a full moon lunar eclipse—will barrel our way on July 4-5 and will again draw your attention to money matters. This eclipse in Capricorn will light your eighth house, so you will not be thinking about money earned each week as salary, but rather the kind of money that comes as one large bundle, such as through a major sale or business deal. It could also come through a bonus, commission, cash advance, severance, insurance payout, court settlement, or divorce. You may be granted a scholarship or hear you are to receive an inheritance. Additionally (or alternatively), this money could appear as a loan, such a mortgage, home-related loan, grant, venture capital, or government payment.
On another note, Mars, the action planet that has the power to fix your attention on one specific area of your life, will have you thinking about your social interactions. Mars recently moved into Aries, lighting your eleventh house of friendship, groups, and community, as well as the area ruling humanitarian and charitable acts. This is the area you will be drawn to in the months ahead. The world needs your ideas, compassion, and leadership skills, dear Gemini, and it appears you will be moved to help people in a substantial way, perhaps by joining a community effort to help those who suffer. Your eleventh house, where so much activity is about to take place, also rules hopes and wishes, so something you’ve dreamed would happen for a long time might now come to you, much to your amazement.
I will add one other point: Your eleventh house also rules profit from efforts made the prior year, so if you’re self-employed, the work and investment you put into your business over the past 12-18 months may now bear an abundant harvest. Usually, Mars stays in any constellation for six weeks, but in 2020, Mars will remain in Aries, your friendship and humanitarian sector, for six months, until January 6, 2021. Having Mars in any one area of your chart is like having 20 cups of coffee a day in that area—Mars certainly makes you focus and exert energy.
The reason for the long visit from Mars to this area of your chart is that from September 9 to November 13 Mars will be retrograde, and in doing so, will slow down all the activities you are involved in at the time. Mars retrograde is considered a bad time for a major business deal or launch, or even to forge a new relationship. Stick to the status quo in your personal and business life for now. If you’re putting on a fundraiser, you would do best in late July and August, and again in the last week of November and December.
It will be fine to develop an ongoing relationship or to reignite a former alliance during Mars retrograde, but it is not the time to start a new one. It might be frustrating to know you will need to sit tight, but with a slowdown on the way, plan your biggest initiations for your best period—the second half of July through August—or hold off until December, your next favorable month.
The new moon on July 20 is not an eclipse, so it will not have a far-reaching effect. This new moon will give you an opportunity to make money from a new source. However, this is a tough new moon, and if you do take a new job or assignment, it will involve strenuous duties, and you will need to handle a great deal of responsibility. Identify your greatest talents—ones that few people possess—and, if you can, find a position that allows you to showcase those unique qualities, as this will give you the financial security you want to build. If you are in the middle of a court case or trying to recover money owed to you, you may be surprised by the tug-of-war you encounter, and you might even need to hire a lawyer to represent you.
Venus in Gemini will make you charming, and in that respect, you may be able to diffuse some of the push-pull I see as a dominant theme this month. You will have considerable help from certain aspects, so don’t feel overwhelmed—just keep to the program and remain honest and transparent. Sometimes the results are in the hands of the planetary angels. Have faith that there is justice in this universe.
