Your Horoscope for Gemini

You have been moving against strong headwinds. Mercury was retrograding last month, causing miscommunications, backtracking, and delays. You might have felt you were going ’round and ’round the mulberry bush, getting nowhere. Mercury was retrograde in Gemini, the sign Mercury rules, so the effect was stronger than usual. This month things will finally go in the right direction, for Mercury, your ruler, will go direct on June 3.

The new moon in Gemini, 9 degrees, that technically appeared last month on May 30 was to be a peach, for it was your annual birthday gift, allowing you luck and happiness on a wide spectrum. This new moon will allow you to decide how you’d like to direct its energies to your advantage in weeks to come. Often I give you a very precise way to use the monthly new moon, but when it falls in your sign, you get to choose what is most important to you and to work with that new moon to get closer to your goal.

The May 30 new moon’s benefits will be especially strong in the first week of June. It’s possible, even likely, that one of the actions you take will be in the realm of communication, travel, shipping, or transportation. I am betting that communication, including writing, speaking, advertising, publicity, social media, or marketing is likely to become a big part of what is coming up for you. Gemini is the sign of the Twins, so things are happening in “twos”— opportunities will come in doubles, and they will delight you.

I am very positive about this new moon of May 30, influential for six months or more, for Jupiter and Mars conjoined (and this is significant) from their position in your eleventh house of joy and happiness on the day before the new moon, and both sent support to that new moon, meaning that your actions will likely lead to profit. It appears a friend or a group where you have a membership will be instrumental to your success. Jupiter’s involvement suggests that you will be able to earn considerable money from offers and new projects.

Jupiter is the natural ruler of your partnership house—spouse, steady sweetheart, manager, agent, publicist, accountant, lawyer, or other such person you’ll be collaborating with closely—and that person will prove to be a jewel to your ability to find and negotiate opportunities. You do seem to need a middle person to act as an intermediary to trigger your luck.

If your birthday falls on May 30, plus or minus five days, you will benefit quite a bit from this new moon. The same is true if you have Gemini rising or your natal moon in Gemini within five degrees of 9 degrees. Also, look to see if you have any natal planets in Gemini, Libra, Aquarius, Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius within five degrees of 9 degrees—if you have one, this new moon will trigger news and opportunity.

The talks you have been having with a partner, client, advertiser, sponsor, or other collaborator will be crystalized by the full moon of June 14 in Sagittarius, 23 degrees. It may alternatively mean you are getting engaged for your birthday on June 14 or sometime within the area of influence of that full moon, June 11-19.

This full moon of June 14 has two main aspects associated with it. They will be evident during the entire circle of influence of that moon (spanning June 11 to June 19) and will describe the outcome of any decision you make at this time. The first aspect is a lovely one—Mercury will be in perfect angle to support Jupiter, bringing opportunity, especially in the media.

Venus will enter Gemini for the only time this year from June 22 to July 17. Your charm will be working overtime, and people in all phases of your life will be drawn to you.

The second aspect will occur at the same time, June 14, when Neptune, currently in your professional tenth house of fame and honors, will be in a hard square angle to the Sun and full moon. This indicates that certain assumptions will not necessary play out as you think they will. You may be too trusting or too idealistic, something you may not find out for months or even years later. With Mars and Saturn working to setting things in stone, be sure you have thoroughly checked out the person you are hiring or collaborating with because it looks like you will be working together a long time. If you are getting married, be sure that you know one another well.

Whether you are crystalizing a marriage or business partnership, share your thoughts with each other to make sure you both are on the same page. We can’t control everything in life, and there are no guarantees in life, so we do the best to clarify things ahead of time.

If signing a contract, it might be best to wait until June 20 when Mercury and Jupiter will be in perfect sync—a gorgeous aspect that is often good for signing papers. However, Neptune will still be too close, so ideally I would like you to wait for the new moon in Cancer, June 28, before you sign. June 20 would be perfect for travel, however—that date falls on a Monday. Perhaps you can plan to take a break for a long weekend that can include June 20.

It will be time to start making good money once the new moon of June 28 arrives. Ask for a raise, or if you are self-employed, pitch new clients, introduce a new product or service for your business, or begin an advertising, publicity or social media campaign.

I get letters from readers that say, wait, no money was given to me. They think the proverbial man with a suitcase full of cash is going to knock on their door and hand them the suitcase. Of course, it goes without saying that you have to make an initiative! So much depends on what you’ve done up to this point—if you have worked hard to build a great reputation, then this new moon will be a time of reward. Astrology is great for helping you plan your actions, if you have been working hard.

There is one little glitch. Again, it will point to Neptune in your tenth house of fame and honors. At the time the Cancer new moon, June 28, Neptune is due to go retrograde until December 3. Outer planets like Neptune typically retrograde for four to five months at a time, so this is not unusual. If you can launch a product, start a new job, or sign papers early in the month, that would be best so that you can stay away from Neptune’s impending slowdown in your career sector.

Neptune retrograde is not like Mercury, Mars, or Venus retrograde, though, because Neptune does not orbit close to Earth like this trio of little planets does. You always feel the effect of these three planets when retrograde. I would not worry too much about Neptune soon to slide backwards. The new moon is the stronger player in this situation and is what is important.

Romantically, Venus will enter Gemini for the only time this year from June 22 to July 17. This is the time when your charm will be working overtime, and people in all phases of your life will be drawn to you. It’s a time to shop for new things to wear, to make a change in you appearance, such as to visit your favorite hairdresser, or schedule a treatment from your dermatologist or facialist. This will be your time to sprinkle fun into your schedule and to make plans.

It’s birthday month, and life is sweet for you, dear Gemini. The recent new moon of last month, which appeared May 30, was in Gemini. Good-fortune planet Jupiter, now firmly ensconced in your eleventh house of friendship, groups, and joy, will signal the Sun and new moon, ensuring a busy social life for you. Mars, the action planet, is joining in the fun by orbiting close to Jupiter in early June. With Mars and Jupiter in Aries, friends will share the inside scoop of new projects they’re working on, and this will have a stimulating and inspiring effect on you. Jupiter is preparing to stay in this part of your chart for months, and Mars will remain until July 5, so it seems assured that a friend will play a prominent role in adding to your happiness and success this month.

With a new moon in Gemini, it’s your turn to set the agenda in the first half of June. Your ruler Mercury has been retrograding since May 10 but will go direct June 3. Be careful not to begin your key initiatives until after June 3, leaving a space of a few days if possible before moving forward, for doing so will give you better results.

You may only have eyes for your sweetheart or spouse at the full moon of June 14. This full moon will ignite your committed partnership sector, so you may be getting engaged or married over the weekend of June 11-12 or June 18-19 when the loving, heightened emotions of the full moon will be at play. Jupiter and Mercury will be friendly to each other, and that makes this full moon all the better: Mercury is your ruler, and governs the making of promises and agreements, all favored for you now. Saturn will ensure promises made are promises kept, for Saturn will work with Mars to make them happen. Married couples can now make plans to complete an exciting, adventurous goal. Neptune will be acting poorly, however, so make sure you make no broad assumptions that may be too idealistic. Aim for clarity by sharing your hopes and dreams.

It is alternatively possible that you will finalize plans to collaborate with a business partner or agent. It would not hurt to do a background check and to call references.

Beginning June 22, Venus will travel through Gemini, a wonderful development, making you unstoppable and irresistible. Single or attached, this development, which will last until July 17, will bring out your natural charm. Use this period to buy a few new items for your wardrobe, consult with your hair stylist, find new ways to improve your appearance, and maybe schedule a visit with your dermatologist.

Your career has been going exceedingly well, and at this full moon, you may make a business commitment or seal a deal. If you need to sign papers, show all paperwork to your lawyer first because due to Neptune’s position, you need to allow your lawyer to make changes to clauses not in your favor or that could put you at risk.

Ask the other party if you both can sign the contract on June 20 when Mercury is in ideal attitude to Jupiter. This suggests profits will result from joining forces, as long as you both are realistic about expectations and that both of you will work to your mutual benefit based on the goals you draw up now.

Flowing from this lovely full moon will also be a solid chance to make money, thanks to the new moon in Cancer, due June 28. This is the best new moon of the year to accelerate income, so ask for a raise in the days that follow, or open talks to create a deal that you feel has growth potential. Alternatively, you may be given a substantial sum of money from a family member, possibly as a belated birthday gift, although, the money you may receive could be for any number of different reasons. See what comes up—you will be spending money too, at this time. Perhaps as a treat for having worked so hard lately, you might go out and buy a new pair of shoes or a designer suit. Life can be glorious at times like this.
