Your January Horoscope for Gemini

Your career is about to hit peaks you’ve never seen before thanks to the arrival of Jupiter, the good fortune planet, in your tenth house of honors, awards, and achievement. Jupiter takes 12 years to revolve around the Sun, so it’s been that long since you’ve had Jupiter helping to raise your profile in your industry and giving you the lucky breaks you deserve to elevate your career.

I should qualify that statement by saying that in 2021, you did have a little preview from Jupiter in Pisces in this same prestigious career house, from May 13 to July 28. (For part of that period, Jupiter was retrograde, so your strongest period was May 13 to June 20, 2021.) Think back—did anything special happen in your career? For some Gemini, or those with Gemini rising (you can only tell your rising sign if you have had your chart done by the specific hour and minute of birth on the day, month, and year of birth), you may have had a professional breakthrough. Look at your email and photos to bring that period into focus. If not, you still have plenty of time to make your mark. A confluence of events is coming up, and the new moon January 2 should be simply extraordinary for your career.

Now, Jupiter has been back since December 28, 2021, and will remain with you until May 10, 2022 when he leaves and moves into Aries. He will come back to Pisces, your career zone, from October 28 to December 20, 2022, a big indication that you are about to end this year on a major professional note. Of all the signs, you have the best forecast for career. Jupiter will be moving at top speed from now until May 10, suggesting that you will rack up gains very quickly. Unlike 2021, when Jupiter was weakly retrograded for one-half the time he spent in your tenth house of honors, awards, and achievement in the first months of 2022, Jupiter will stay in strong shape. He will retrograde later in the year, during his time in your same prestigious career sector (tenth house), from October 27 to November 23, so this means your strongest period at year’s end will be from November 23 to December 20, 2022.

Let’s come back to this current month, January, which will start with a happy, positive new moon January 2, encouraging your finances in days and weeks to come. You have the new moon at 12 degrees, along with her partner, the Sun, Venus, and Pluto, all in Capricorn, filling your eighth house of other people’s money. The best part about this new moon is that Uranus, the planet of surprise, is likely to send you a sudden sum of money that you don’t expect.

The money might come as a bonus, commission, royalty, licensing fee, insurance check for a claim you made, or money owed you from a while ago that you may have given up on ever seeing. You may win a contest or on a TV game show. It might come in the form of a beautiful, valuable gift, or you could be awarded a mortgage from your bank or venture capital from a sponsor. As you see, all these examples represent money that comes to you outside of regular salary, and when it arrives, you will be stunned.

Saturn rules your eighth house of other people’s money (the place where the new moon will arrive), and Saturn is currently based in your ninth house, so the money is likely to stem from a media project (writing, editing, broadcasting, or producing) or from a company abroad.

Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, has recently entered Pisces (December 28) and is now shining like a brilliant beacon at the very pinnacle point of your solar chart, giving you career opportunities you never had nor dreamed would be offered to you.

Emphasis on the eighth house also suggests you may be doing your taxes this month or in February as January’s powerful new moon is there, and Mars is on the way to reach that house too, from January 24 until March 6. If your taxes are easy to do, you might be taking lessons on how to invest safely but still see impressive financial growth, or you may be dealing with an estate property sale. There are many possibilities, but you get the idea.

Mars will remain in your seventh house of partnerships, in love or business, so it will likely be your partner who will create your momentum this month. Let your sweetheart, spouse, agent, business partner, or another person you collaborate with closely in a relationship take the lead. Looking at your solar chart, it appears that it will be your business partner who will be directly responsible for the financial luck you experience this month. When Mars leaves Sagittarius, you will have more say in shaping and announcing your plans.

This entire month will underscore finances, including the full moon of January 17 in Cancer, 28 degrees. At this full moon, Uranus, the surprise planet, in Taurus, will contact Venus, still positioned in your financial house as it tours Capricorn. Pluto will oppose the full moon, so you may find yourself in a fiercely competitive situation, such as if you are bidding on a project. Don’t be concerned as you’ll likely settle talks on a large deal, and as a result, more money will flow to you.

Be sure to keep your options open until you can see the lay of the land because your ruler Mercury will be retrograde, January 14 to February 3. Some facts may be missing or obscured, and you will need time to see all the elements of the deal you seem to be negotiating.

Venus is currently retrograde too, a trend that started December 19 and that will continue until January 29. Venus rules love, luxury, fun, and beautiful things, and she also rules profit and money, especially related to women. If you plan to market a product to women, avoid January because Venus will be retrograde until January 29. It would be best to wait to launch an advertising, publicity, or social media campaign in February (after February 3), when both Mercury and Venus will be back to direct speed.

It also would be best to put off scheduling Botox and fillers until February—those can be expensive treatments, so you would want to go to see your dermatologist when Venus is wide awake and supporting you, as opposed to when she is sleeping in retrograde. If you do make major changes to your looks, you might not like the results with Venus retrograde. That goes for cutting your hair or for men, shaving off your beard. You can do anything you like in February. Just a note on grooming—it is fine to get touchups in color or trim cuts, for, of course, those are not major, dramatic changes.

Speaking of retrogrades, a big, important planet is about to go direct on January 18—Uranus. This planet of change first went retrograde on August 19, 2021.

This is good news, for Uranus rules your solar ninth house of publishing, international relationships and business done abroad, legal matters, and your efforts to earn an advanced degree in college or graduate school. If you work in one of these areas listed, things will perk up for you. For best results, wait until the new moon February 1 in Aquarius, 12 degrees—Uranus rules Aquarius. That new moon will address the very same areas of life that I just listed that are ruled by your solar ninth house. With Uranus going direct, it will strengthen the February 1 new moon enormously, and that, in turn, will help you do well with your efforts in those areas.

Romance will be much better in February—Valentine’s Day holds the promise of warmth and happiness this year. If you are single and you met someone new this month with Venus retrograde, there may be intense feelings that will cool off quickly because Venus rules affection—Venus will limit that affection during her retrograde. Sit tight this month, and enjoy the slow pace and peacefulness of January.

You will be in the mood to tend to and examine your finances the moment the New Year takes off, thanks to a glorious new moon, January 2. That new moon will set off this trend in weeks to come.

Surprise planet Uranus will be very friendly to the January 2 new moon, so happy, unexpected financial news is likely to come up shortly after that new moon arrives. Uranus will be in a trine position (denoting supreme harmony), suggesting that you will be in line for an exciting windfall.

You may be in negotiations on a new project that comes up this month, and if talks proceed slowly, accept the pace, and don’t try to push things along—delays will work in your favor. Mercury, your ruler, will retrograde from January 14 until February 3, so arrangements can become solidified only after Mercury regulates its orb. In the meantime, keep planning and working on budgets and ways to increase your income. Arrangements based on commission, royalty, or a licensing fee will do well.

Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, has recently entered Pisces (December 28) and is now shining like a brilliant beacon at the very pinnacle point of your solar chart, giving you career opportunities you never had nor dreamed would be offered to you. Your outlook for your career success could not be better, and offers should shape up and materialize by February or March.

Mars is currently in your opposite sign of Sagittarius, to stay until January 24. This month, it appears that you will need an agent, manager, headhunter, job broker, or another intermediary to help link you to the most lucrative professional opportunities. Jupiter rules Sagittarius, so as you see, Mars and Jupiter are linked this month.

The financial theme will culminate at the full moon in Cancer, January 17, to light the other money-oriented part of your chart, your second house, ruling personal money and possessions. You may be receiving checks, paying off bills, sending money for tuition or taxes, or buying something expensive that you’ve had your eye on for a while. The Sun and Pluto will be conjoined at this time, so if you’re looking for a lender, sponsor, or venture capital, you may be able to reach accord on a handshake and begin to draw up legal documents to sign next month (after Mercury—your ruling planet and planet governing all communications and contracts—goes direct February 3).

Venus started to retrograde on December 19, 2021, and will go direct on January 29, 2022. This is another reason to wait until February to finish off agreements and launch new ventures. Venus is famously known for her dominion over beauty, art, jewels, flowers, fine wines, champagne, imported chocolate, and spa treatments, so as you see, Venus rules all the decorative and enjoyable parts of life. It is lesser known that Venus also rules money and profits, particularly those related to products and services marketed to women.

Venus is linked to beauty and handsome looks, so whether you are male or female, you might want to hold off having Botox or fillers or having your dentist apply veneers. Also, only trim your hair—no radical changes in cut or color until next month. You will likely be happier with the results if you wait for Venus to become alive and vibrant. If you wait until March, you will have an even better month for making appearance upgrades, for Venus will be at her best. As said, March will be your big career month, too—all eyes will be on you.
