April 2025

Dear Reader,

In all the years I have been studying astrology, I have never seen so many major outer planets change signs within one year. That is what is underway now.

Before I list the planets that are on the move, I want to add that April’s manuscript ran 40,000 words divided by 12 signs.

Your April 2025 Horoscope for Cancer

by Susan Miller

You have a stellar horoscope for April, with a crown of stars glittering at the top of your chart in the mid-heaven area. This is the very highest point possible in your chart, and it holds two different houses that are both lit up for you: the ninth and tenth houses. We need to look at both, but first let’s review the new moon solar eclipse that occurred on March 29 in your tenth house in Aries, 9 degrees.

The new moon solar eclipse on March 29 will continue to influence you for as many as five months into the future, but it will be especially strong in its first 10 days, which brings you into the first eight days of April. You have been subject to many eclipses in the Aries-Libra family of signs, and these eclipses have shown up every five and a half months, arriving in pairs two weeks apart, since 2023. The eclipse on March 29 was the last one in that series, and you will not see any more eclipses in Aries or Libra for another nine years.

The March 29 eclipse was a new moon, and new moon eclipses are usually welcome ones. Unlike a full moon lunar eclipse (which would bring a culmination or ending), a new moon solar eclipse opens new doors and offers new opportunities. This one lit your solar tenth house of professional and prestigious career advancement. If you work for others, management has been quite impressed with you. You may think you haven’t done well enough to draw attention to yourself because you were facing strong headwinds in an uncertain economy where it’s difficult to make progress. Almost every executive you know has been in a watch-and-wait stance. You have also been dealing with a lot of retrograde planets that include Mercury and Venus. Mercury has been retrograding since March 15, making it almost impossible to reach agreements on deals. It’s just as well, because it’s never wise to finish a deal while Mercury is in retrograde.

Mercury will go direct on April 7, and he will fully return to his former robust state on April 26. You won’t have to wait to finalize something until April 26, if it’s not possible to do so, but a good rule of thumb is to leave a space of as many days as you can after a planet goes direct before acting. Planets are often quite unstable during those first days.
