Your Horoscope by Susan Miller
Saturn has been in Aquarius since March 21, has now begun to move backward in retrograde, and is heading back to reach the constellation of Capricorn on July 1. This period is meant to be a tiny view of a more sustained visit of Saturn to Aquarius to begin later this year, on December 16, to last until March 7, 2023. By now you may feel responsibilities mount, but things will ease by next month to allow you time to catch your breath. You are getting a picture of what’s to come, and soon, you will be able to take a short rest.
Saturn rules the concept of time, so when you have Saturn on your Sun, as you do briefly (particularly those born early in the sign, January 19-21), you may be feeling psychologically that you’re running out of time, considering whether you’re young, middle-aged, or elderly, and how much you’ve accomplished so far. Accordingly, you will be determined to make your time count for something more. After Saturn, the taskmaster planet, returns to Aquarius in December, he will ask you to make a major commitment to a life goal. That might be to go back to university to get a graduate degree. Or in the coming years, specifically 2021 and 2022, you may get married, have a baby, buy a house, start a business, or write a book. There are many possibilities. You would not do all these things, of course. Pick one or two. The point is, you will work hard toward your goal, and later you won’t easily be able to undo the goal. (You can’t return a house after you buy it or send back the baby, of course.) You would not want to undo your goal either—what you do when Saturn is tutoring you, you get to keep forever. Soon, you will want to tackle your goal, and once you accomplish it, you will feel secure and settled.
Let’s say you don’t work on a goal, and you ignore the yearnings inside for accomplishing something big in your life. Then it means that when Saturn returns to Aquarius in 2050, you will again be asked to choose a major goal, and it will be harder for you to accomplish it because you will be older. There are certain levels best reached when we are young. The more you do now, the less you need do when Saturn returns in 2050 because you will have learned so much from Saturn now.
Now let’s turn to your finances. Mars has currently been touring Pisces, your solar second house of earned income and spending. It appears that since the middle of May your expenses have been running high. You may be very focused on earning more money, and because Mars is such an assertive planet, if you concentrate on finding a pipeline of money, you can be successful in improving you cash flow. Once Mars leaves your second house of personal income, your expenses will drop—that’s due to happen at the end of this month, on June 27.
Before financial relief can occur, however, we’ll have two eclipses this month, and Mars will stir the pot and argue with the first one, a full moon lunar eclipse on June 5. Alas, you may see more expenses, or if someone owes you a check, news that the money won’t be coming could throw off plans, at least for now. On the June 5 eclipse, Mars will still be in your second house of personal savings and earned income, and that is where Mars will draw your attention. Here is what I see.
The eclipse will occur on June 5 in Sagittarius, 16 degrees, in your solar eleventh house of friendship, groups, and charitable activities that help those who suffer and need help. Focus on a friend or on the management of a group to which you belong. It is a full moon lunar eclipse, and that means it is much more powerful than your typical full moon. The full moon, of course, will oppose the Sun. The full moon eclipse will be in Sagittarius, and six signs away in Gemini, the Sun will be conjunct Venus, in your solar fifth house of love, romance, pregnancy, birth, children, and creativity.
The second eclipse, June 21, will fall in Cancer and light your sixth house of work projects. This eclipse will open a new path and offer you an opportunity to work on something new and different from your usual projects.
Mars is at the mid-point between the Sun and Venus, which are orbiting tightly together in Gemini, and the full moon eclipse, which is in Sagittarius. That sets up two perfect 90-degree squares, which is considered harsh. It appears money, or a shortfall of it, will be causing a problem. For example, if you had promised your friend that you would be part of her destination wedding in 2021, you may now see that you shouldn’t have been so hasty to accept the role of attendant. Doing so is about to cost you a good deal more money than you ever imagined.
Your eleventh house, where the full moon eclipse is, rules your friends and also your community, followers on social media, your neighborhood, charities, and humanitarian activities. Let’s say you want to run for political office, and you had already let others know your intentions. You have the signatures so you can be on the ballot. At the eclipse of June 5, you may find that you don’t have enough donations coming in to properly launch your campaign. Once you know this, you will have to find out why and figure out a way to generate more money. If you have a campaign manager, you may be unsatisfied with that person’s performance and feel you need to make a change.
Or the eclipse might bring up a shortfall of cash due to your spouse’s excessive spending (or lack of giving your agreed-upon child support) that would cause tension and trigger a sensitive discussion.
Mars is traveling arm-in-arm with Neptune. They are only five degrees apart (out of 360 degrees), so you see, these two planets are best friends. Yet when Neptune is in hard aspect to other bodies in the solar system (as it is to both the Sun and Venus one side and the full moon eclipse on the other side), you may not easily be able to get all the facts. Don’t jump to conclusions, though. All eclipses have a second act, and more information will come out fairly soon. When an eclipse occurs, a lot of dust fills the air (metaphorically), and it is hard to see what is real and what is illusion.
Fortunately, Jupiter and Pluto, both in Capricorn and close to your ascendant, are seeing what is going on and the stress you may be feeling, and they both want to rush to help you financially. As you see, you may feel you are running out of cash, but then Jupiter and Pluto (both substantial financial planets, and doubly so in Capricorn) will help you. A friend may give you a loan or help you out with an outright gift.
That’s not all. Your ruling planet Uranus, now in your fourth house of home, will help you too, by beaming little Mercury in your sixth house of work projects. If you own your own business, this could mean you may bring in a new client, or if you work for others, you may get a side job that will allow you to earn extra money.
Keep in mind that Mercury will go retrograde this month from June 17 to July 12. You will have to hit the ground running if you are going to be productive because you need to leave a space of days before the day Mercury turns retrograde, June 17.
If you need a computer, smart phone, new car, TV, air conditioner, vacuum cleaner, or kitchen appliance, as some examples, you will have to choose it and get it home in the first week, as Mercury rules the electronics that are found inside these type products. (Mercury also rules the gears and moving parts of all machines.)
Mercury retrograde is usually not considered a great time to take a permanent full-time job, and you will have Mercury retrograde in your work-a-day sector. At the same time, with millions of people out of work, you may have to take an interesting offer, even if the timing is off. Do your best to ask as many questions as possible before you take the job, and see if you can get your job description confirmed in an email before you start. If your prospective employer is too busy to write out your job description, you might opt to do it, and be sure to have a friend look at it before you send it so that your work contains good grammar and no typos. It is always easier to find a new job if you already have one.
The reason I want you to confirm your job duties is that later, they may change dramatically, and that is due to Mercury retrograde at the time you took the job. If you have all you discussed in writing, you will be in good shape. (If you write the description, have it confirmed by your boss.)
The second eclipse, a new moon solar eclipse, will arrive on June 21 in Cancer, zero degrees, and this one should be a happy event. It will light your sixth house of work-a-day assignments, so a project may come up suddenly. The zero degrees of a cardinal sign—which is what we have here in Cancer—is considered extremely powerful. The zero degree aligns precisely with the four points of a compass—north, south, east, and west—and zero degrees is energetic and defines direction.
The eclipse may bring you an assignment that deals with food (gourmet or regular grocery items), restaurants (all kinds), home recipe delivery (like BlueApron.com), or a not-for-profit charity that helps with meals for those who are hungry. It might be with a hotel, or it may be with a company that sells maternity clothing or caters to the needs of mothers-to-be, including Lamaze training (helping women in labor). Cancer also rules home decorating, home arts, and home kitchen and entertaining products, such as cooking tools and pans, pretty dishes, serving platters, glassware, napkins, placemats, and so forth.
Of course, I cannot see your entire chart, so your luck with this surprise job or assignment might be in a different industry, but I wanted to mention the ones above as they are coming up strong in your chart. I listed them to get you thinking.
Mars and Neptune will still be orbiting together by the June 21 new moon solar eclipse, and will again be in hard angle to this second eclipse. This suggests to me that you might not like the salary offered for the job. This job would not be a step up, but rather be on a similar level to the one you had before. If you like the work, you will do well, and later, when we get away from this Mars and Neptune aspect, you may be able to negotiate a raise.
No matter what your employment status, I suggest you try to get a raise at the full moon in your salary sector on September 1. (This date is just prior to Labor Day in the US.) Don’t delay—a full moon is only strong for plus or minus four days.
A new moon eclipse in the sixth house, as you’ll have on June 21, will also make you excited about improving your health. You might start an exercise routine or plan more nutritious meals. When it comes to caring for yourself to prevent getting sick from COVID-19, you may wash your hands more and stock up on new masks. Call your doctor to see if you should be taking vitamins. It is unlikely you’ll get in to see your doctor, but you might be able to have a telephone conversation. Dental offices are opening up—you may want to see your dentist for a cleaning and make that smile of yours bright.
Now, a new topic. We have a lot of retrograde planets at the moment.
Venus is currently retrograde all month, until June 24, in your truelove sector. Your love life will be strong after Venus goes direct at month’s end, and you will do well with matters of the heart in July through August 7.
Have a look at this list of retrograde planets:
Mercury will retrograde June 17 to July 12 and also again from October 13 to November 3.
Jupiter went retrograde on May 14 and will go direct on September 12.
Saturn has been retrograde from May 10, not to go direct until September 28.
Neptune will go retrograde this month on June 22 until November 28.
Pluto went retrograde on April 25 and will stay retrograde until October 4.
Note that your ruler Uranus is not on this list. That’s great news, as you can make progress where others cannot.
In the later months, when both Jupiter and Pluto are rested and going direct, I worry that the pandemic will give us a strong second wave. Pluto and Jupiter are now weak, the reason we are not hearing about the tragic cases of coronavirus as much as we did in March, April, and May. Pluto rules viruses, and Jupiter expands everything he touches. In this case, Jupiter is helping Pluto spread the virus. Pluto and Jupiter meet every 13 years.
In matters of health, you have to keep your guard up from the end of September through the end of December when Jupiter and Pluto will continue to be strong. Jupiter and Pluto will be far enough apart and weakened by January 6, 2021, the time we might have a treatment or vaccine ready, so that the virus will begin to taper off.
The plethora of retrograde planets right now means that life will proceed slowly. Concentrate on assignments, and if you are out of work, contact people from your past, for that will bring you your best luck for finding new work. When looking for a new job, contact former VIPs, clients, co-workers, vendors, and anyone you know who could give you a tip and possibly a recommendation. Whether you work for yourself or others, if you almost worked on a project but for some reason it had to be put aside, perhaps due to lack of time or funds, that project might now jump to life.
Also, when we have so many planets resting in retrograde, it is time to go back to the work you already did some time ago, and see if you can give it another polishing to make it better. During any retrograde, it is time to re-visit, re-think, re-address, re-examine, re-schedule, and redo.
The universe knows it is human to want to keep moving forward, but sometimes we become too obsessed with all things new. Go back, dear Aquarius. Re-connect with clients from the past, people who always loved you and who believed in you. They will be happy to hear from you.
If you are planning a big launch for later in the year, I should let you know that we have an impending Mars retrograde. At the end of this month, Mars will enter Aries on June 27. This is good news for you, because fire-sign Aries and air-sign Aquarius go together beautifully.
Mars will remain in Aries an unusually long time, not the usual six weeks, but rather he will remain in Aries six months, from June 27, 2020, until January 6, 2021. During that time, you may be working on a very new type of project, possibly in high tech or with a start-up in a brand-new industry. Whatever you do, it appears you will be turning onto a new road, as a pathfinder, into a realm where few have any experience. Mars will be in your third house of communication, so you may be negotiating a number of contracts. If we didn’t have a pandemic, you would be traveling to see clients out of town, but I feel you may be doing a lot of Zoom conferences instead.
Mars only retrogrades every two years—that will be this year, 2020, from September 9 to November 13.
We always feel the retrogrades of Venus, Mercury, and Mars more directly than we do the retrogrades of the outer planets Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto.
Mars is such an important planet for another reason. Mars is the timekeeper of the zodiac—he decides what you will focus on each month. Also, being the high energy planet and warrior, Mars teaches you how to compete effectively—he gives you the will to win by working hard and keeping your eye on the ball. This will be doubly true with Mars in his home placement of Aries (Mars rules Aries).
When Mars retrogrades, he languishes, making it a terrible time to launch a new product or service. You unconsciously depend on Mars to help you carry your hard work further and faster, but when he is missing in action, as Mars will be in September through much of November, launching your new product or service becomes arduous, with many corrections to that product necessary.
If you planned to debut a new product or service during Mars retrograde, see if you can move the launch up to August, an excellent month.
You are dealing with a number of changes in your life. Saturn has recently entered Aquarius, but only for April, May, and June, to leave July 1. Responsibilities are mounting, but so far, you are dealing well with all the universe is asking you to do. It is time to set a life goal that, once accomplished, will form one of the grand pillars that will support your life.
This month holds two eclipses, the first one will fall on June 5, a full moon lunar eclipse in Sagittarius, highlighting a friend or your membership in a group, club, or association dealing with a humanitarian project. This full moon will bring a project to culmination and finish. Alternatively, it may be that you will learn about a decision that a club leader made that you did not know about previously or something about a friend, and it may change the way you view the person in charge or the situation in general. Regarding your friend, you may have a falling out and leave the friendship.
Either way, with Mars in hard angle to both the Sun and full moon eclipse on June 5, it seems clear that the subject of money will be a point of contention. Neptune is orbiting with Mars adding confusion, so don’t assume that you have all pertinent facts, for it appears there will be more to discover. For now, do not make an accusation, rather listen to what you are told. Dig for information and take time to reflect on what you learn. There will be time to voice your feelings and conclusions later.
It may help to know that while Mars has forced up your expenses since the middle of May, those expenses will calm down as of June 27 when Mars leaves this part of your chart. From then on, the topic of money won’t make you as sensitive as it has over recent weeks, and you will feel more in control.
The second eclipse, June 21, will fall in Cancer and light your sixth house of work projects. This eclipse will open a new path and offer you an opportunity to work on something new and different from your usual projects. It may have something to do with a hotel (or other structure that provides shelter), a food establishment or restaurant, food bank, or work with caregivers, aids, or nurses. You have been looking for ways to bring in more income, and this eclipse seems to fix that possibility by providing you with a means to increase your income either full-time or part-time. It looks like this job won’t be a prestigious step up, but it has other charms by having you working on something high tech or new, and that will seem like you opened a window and let in the fresh air.
This same eclipse will have you thinking about your health, and you may be determined to eat more nutritiously after the eclipse occurs. This eclipse of June 21 will fall in Cancer, the sign that rules food and the stomach among other things. If the virus is still raging in your area, it will likely be impossible to see a doctor for a general checkup, but you can read up on nutrition to make small but important changes to your diet to feel better and notice you have more energy. By all means, do not let down your guard when it comes to wearing your mask—the virus is hoping you will make yourself vulnerable. If you do, sooner or later it will swoop in and infect you. Stay strong.
Mercury will be retrograde from June 17 to July 12, so nothing of earth-shattering importance will occur during that time. Mercury rules your financial eighth house of other people’s money, the kind of money ruling bank and government loans, mortgages and refinanced mortgages, university financial aid, venture capital, insurance payouts, unemployment insurance, child support, divorce and other court cash settlements, taxes and tax refunds, commissions, severance, royalties, licensing fees, inheritances, and so forth. It is money that comes to you outside of salary, but also covers money you owe others, such as to your credit card company.
This financial area may bring delays and mix-ups, such as missing paperwork or inaccuracies. Be vigilant if you have put in an application for reimbursement (such as would be the case with insurance or a tax refund), but also keep watch over your statements for any unauthorized charges. By being aware, you can fend off any problems. If anyone owes you money, send a gentle reminder statement in early June, well in advance of June 17. Do not launch any new products or services until days after July 12 for best luck.
Venus is retrograde too, and it’s in the best place for you, Gemini, an air sign like yours, and touring your solar fifth house of truelove. Venus went retrograde on May 12 but will go direct this month on June 24. During a Venus retrograde, it is not considered wise in astrological circles to start a new relationship. Venus rules love and affection, and if you meet someone and start a relationship now, it could cool off in short order. If you met prior to May 12, you are fine. Keep talking to your new love over the phone and Facetime, but keep your distance for health reasons. Anyone—including you—could be asymptomatic. Building a relationship slowly is the best way to create a foundation for real love later on.
