Your September Horoscope for Aquarius

It’s September and you are determined to start the new season with your finances in good shape. You had a new moon a few days prior to the start of September that triggered your motivation, and that was the new moon that appeared on August 27. That new moon will influence you for weeks ahead, and certainly in September, which will have a strong focus on money.

This new moon in Virgo, 4 degrees, put Mercury in the spotlight as the key planet to watch, and happily, Mercury received excellent vibrations from heavy duty powerhouse planet Pluto in Capricorn in an out-of-sign trine, a heavenly aspect. Mercury is just a hair’s breadth away from where it’s been in Virgo, now newly minted in Libra. This suggests that you can find new sources of income if you look for them, and with Pluto involved, the fee or settlement you negotiate should please you. That new moon lit your house of other people’s money, so you might get a new gig that pays you through commission, royalty, or licensing fee. Mars will be very supportive to Mercury, so you may get a onetime fee for a creative project you will selected to do.

New moons lead us down new paths into new opportunities, so as September begins, you are likely to start a new income generating project. It’s also possible that you have a big idea that needs funding, such as if you are starting a business and need venture capital or a bank loan. On the other hand, if you want to buy a house, you may be applying for a mortgage, or if you want to redo a part of your house, you may need a home improvement loan. If you want to go to graduate school or college, you may be looking for financial aid, a student loan, or a scholarship and will be sending in your application(s). Whatever the reason, be sure to get your application(s) in early this month.

Mercury is getting ready to go retrograde, from September 9 to October 2, but in truth, you have been feeling a progressive slowdown from Mercury since late last month in August. It would not be a good time to buy a machine or anything with electronic chips, such as a car, computer, smart phone, household appliance, vacuum cleaner, or other such items because Mercury rules mechanical and electronic devices. Wait until after October 2—you will be glad you waited to shop.

It’s also wise to put off signing a contract if you can, for conditions will change later, but there is no way now to see precisely how they will change. Sometimes we are forced into signing a contract, or we will lose the opportunity. That is life, and we have to adapt. In that case, though, you will need to be flexible and go with changes that may come up as you proceed. No matter when you sign, it will be important to check in with a lawyer and allow time for him or her to clarify or adjust a few of the clauses to protect you.

The energy of this August 27 new moon from last month would also help you do some year-end tax planning. You might want to call your accountant for a preparatory meeting. Or if you don’t have a will, it’s time you made one, and there are ways you can accomplish that easily without too much expense. If you are more mature and have considerable assets, you may want to adjust your will and do some estate planning, which is ruled by the eighth house, recently lit by that new moon.

Next, we come to the outstanding full moon in Pisces, 18 degrees, on September 10. This is one of my favorite full moons of the season, and I bet you will feel the same way. This full moon will occur in your second house of earned income, and because Uranus is involved with this full moon, money may come to you out of the blue. Uranus, your ruler, will send a gorgeous, electric beam to both the Sun and moon, suggesting the money that arrives will be a big surprise. It could come as a gift, big loan, or as a result of a lucrative project. Uranus is based in your fourth house of home and family, so it is also possible that your mother or father may send you a generous check. If you plan to sell a piece of furniture, a painting or even a piece of property that your family had given you a long time ago, you may make a surprisingly generous sum when you sell it near September 10.

Mars in Gemini and Venus in Libra will be in heavenly trine on October 18—circle it in red! What a fun, romantic, luxurious day you have in store! Make plans! Travel would be GREAT!

The full moon will be conjunct Neptune, so if you are buying or selling art, that would be a good way to use this full moon, but if buying art, get it authenticated. If you are making an important deal, again, I would ask you to work with a lawyer and perhaps add a financial advisor. Neptune is the planet of the arts and music, but it is also a planet known to put a veil over things, to make situations look better than they are. Neptune can hide facts. I love this full moon nevertheless, because of Uranus’ intervention. See how it works out for you, but of course, stay alert.

Now I have more good news for you!

Mars recently moved to Gemini on August 20 and will light your fifth house of true love for a whopping seven months! Mars usually remains in a sign for only six or seven weeks, so can you imagine—seven months in such a happy part of your chart? In addition to romance, your fifth house also rules fun, leisure, sports, the spark of new love, pregnancy, and the care for children. An additional bonus from your fifth house when stimulated, like it will be now, is to expand your creativity and imagination exponentially. The need to express yourself artistically in any form will likely be very strong. You may be wondering why Mars is spending seven uninterrupted months in Gemini. The answer is that Mars will retrograde in the middle of the time he spends in Gemini.

The entire time Mars will be in Gemini will be August 20, 2022, to March 25, 2023. Mars will retrograde in the middle of that period, October 30 to January 12.

The last time that happened—with Mars retrograde in Gemini the ENTIRE time—was October 28, 1943 to January 10, 1944.

Mars was PARTLY retrograde in Gemini from October 19, 1958, to December 20, 1958, and then PARTLY retrograde in Gemini from November 6, 1975, to January 20, 1976. Next, Mars was PARTLY retrograde in Gemini from November 15, 2007, to January 30, 2008. After that, we come to where we are now, but this time, like in 1943-1944, Mars will retrograde the entire time in Gemini. As you see, this is very rare.

Mars retrogrades every two years, always in a different sign, so we get used to having him silently behind us, helping us compete with determination, confidence, and courage. Things move along fairly smoothly when Mars is moving ahead, but when Mars is retrograde, we find that the pace of life slows down. We also change our mind—and in your case, you may waffle back and forth about how much you love the new person you are dating. I say don’t make any decision about your relationship when Mars is retrograde. Let the period pass, and see how you feel by the end of January 2023, leaving some space from January 12.

Alternatively, you may change your mind about how you want a creative project to go. For example, if you are writing a novel, you may reshape one or more of the characters.

Gemini is a sign that blends perfectly with your energy, for both Gemini and Aquarius are air signs. Gemini is not only affiliated with overall communication but also with the words you use in conversation, especially to the person you are starting to datex or have been dating a long time now, as well as your children. How well you communicate with one of these people in your life will matter quite a bit.

On another thought, completely separate from what I just said, wouldn’t it be wonderful if Aquarians in love would write love poems or love letters? Texting and email have taken the tenderness out of communication. Alas, I am being nostalgic, and I admit am a hopeless romantic. It might be fun to at least memorize a poem that you especially like to recite to the one you love while Mars is in Gemini.

Back to normal life. I feel Mars retrograde may increase supply chain problems again, only to a higher level. If you are in sales, you will find that people will hesitate about whether to go ahead with a project or not, perhaps because they are waiting for the 2023 budgets to come into play in January. You will not lose any competitive advantage by waiting through this period. Everyone will be in the same boat.

Launch a new product or relationship (in love or business) near the fabulous full moon October 9 next month. That full moon is in Aries, a fire sign that only burns more brightly when your air-sign element of Aquarius uses it. That’s a Sunday, but all full moons are influential for five days. You will have a tiny window of opportunity because Mars will start to slow things down far before he goes retrograde, by October 15 or so.

You are an analytical person, and I bet you are taking some of what I am saying with a grain of salt. No, no, I want you to see what I am seeing.

When Mars is healthy and not retrograde, he takes two days to go one degree. When Mars gets ready to go retrograde, by mid-October, he takes 18 days to one degree. Yikes! Forget about walking through glue—this will feel like walking through just-poured cement! We tend to take Mars’ help for granted, and when Mars is missing in action, we wonder why projects take more time and money to complete.

Many astrologers feel (and I agree) it’s not the time to date someone new when Mars is retrograde. Mars rules sex, so with Mars retrograde, the passion in your relationship could soon become lackluster. You don’t want to mix this aspect into the birth of the relationship. Spend time focusing on your creativity, and give your children (if you have children) more attention. Plan outings for them, and enjoy them to the fullest.

You have your best chance to meet someone new in late January (January 21, 2023, the new moon in Aquarius, a gorgeous one for you), and you will also enjoy February and March. If you are married, this tour of Mars will be wonderful—you can use the entire period of Mars in Gemini, including the retrograde period, to step out and have the kind of fun together that you used to have when you first met. (Marriage is covered by the seventh house, not the fifth house where Mars is now—this long tour of Mars through your fifth house is there to simply make you happy, my dear attached Aquarian.)

Let’s now talk about the lovely new moon in Libra, 3 degrees, that will appear on September 25. This new moon could be your very best time to travel—late September and in the weeks to come next month. A new moon in Libra makes Venus the prominent planet, and I am thrilled to see Pluto will be beaming Venus, sure to make your trip special. If you haven’t been able to take a vacation lately, think about taking one after September 25.

Other areas that will glow for you include publishing and broadcasting, the media, the court system, immigration matters, and your pursuit to get an undergraduate or graduate degree.

Before I go, I will mention that Venus is heading to Libra from September 29 to October 23, so, dear Aquarius, you have much to look forward to! Choose new wardrobe items for the coming season when Venus graces Libra, for it blends so beautifully with your Aquarius Sun.

Venus will move through your ninth house of travel during this period, so a trip taken after September 29 and before October 23 should be especially wonderful. Mercury will be out of retrograde, and Mars, Mercury’s big brother, won’t go retrograde until October 30, and although you will start to feel Mars’ slowdown a little sooner, Mars won’t interfere with your travel plans, so I hope you can go.

Mars in Gemini and Venus in Libra will be in heavenly trine on October 18—circle it in red! What a fun, romantic, luxurious day you have in store! Make plans! Travel would be GREAT!

This month strongly emphasizes money—earning it, shopping for a loan, paying off obligations, and finding ways to make more. The universe will help you on all fronts. The first clue that you would be involved with money management was the new moon that occurred just prior to the start of September on August 27. That new moon occurred in Virgo, your eighth house of bank loans, student loans, mortgages, venture capital, taxes, credit cards, inheritances, commissions, and royalties. You might be rethinking your credit cards and loans and trying to lower debt now that interest rates are rising.

You may also do early tax planning for year end and, if self-employed, decide how much tax you should send in. If you received an inheritance or windfall of cash, you may want to huddle with your financial advisor to decide how to invest the money. This new moon is good for planning, but you must be careful. Here is why.

Mercury is about to retrograde, September 9 to October 2, and confusing data or misinformation may cause you to make the wrong decision. Think about your plans without rushing. Plan to be ready to make investment decisions in early October, near or before the full moon October 9. Tax planning estimates can be made now with information you currently have in your computer ledgers if the figures are accurate and up to date.

The full moon in Pisces September 10 will be when you’ll send out checks to those you owe. If you had asked for a raise some time ago, you would likely get the final answer at this full moon.

This full moon is a peach, for it will receive a beam from surprise planet Uranus, and you could be receiving a handsome sum of money you never expected. The unexpected money could come in two parts or from two sources, as Pisces, the sign of the September full moon, is a double-bodied sign—the Two Fishes.

Uranus is in your home sector and may point to a sudden sale of property. In fact, you may get a sum higher than your asking price, even if you had posted this property for a long time with no buyers interested. At the same time, if you are purchasing property, you may get the sale, negotiate a bargain for the new house, and become richer both ways. Try to set the closing of any property near October 7 to 10.

After being wrapped in calculator tape, you may be yearning to break free and travel. The universe understands, and will send you a darling new moon on September 25, perfectly made for your impending trip, and you can choose to go near or far. This new moon is in Libra, an air sign like yours, so you will enjoy your travels. It looks like you would go to a city, as Libra has affinity with cultural activities including fine dining, museum and gallery visits, theatre, and concerts. Meanwhile, Mars will amp up the energy in your love sector, a trend that will last for many months, which is unusual. You may now take a highly romantic trip with your one-and-only. If single, you may meet someone at resorts singles are attracted to that are not too far from your home.

If you are going to attend college this semester or take graduate school classes, this new moon will see you do well and get professors you like and will learn from.

In terms of your career, if you work in media, you will have an extra dip of luck, as the new moon of September 25 will bring one (or possibly two) important stories for you to write about (publishing) or to do a feature segment or entire documentary on (broadcasting). Additionally, legal matters will go well.

Venus will enter Libra, a sublime place for Venus to be for you, from September 29 to October 23—you have lots to look forward to next month! Put a star on October 18 (a Tuesday) and the weekend leading up to that day—Saturday October 15 and Sunday October 16—which will be highly romantic. Venus will receive signals from both her lover Mars in Gemini and Saturn from his perch in Aquarius, adding long-term stability and lasting feelings to what happens on those magical dates.
