Now let’s turn to the big moment of 2025—the lovely new moon in Gemini on May 26, which I feel is the official start of 2025.
Until now, we have had to deal with a barrage of retrograde “personal planets,” which are Mercury, Venus, and Mars, the ones that orbit closest to Earth. Unlike Mars or Venus, Mercury retrogrades quite a bit—three times a year for three and a half weeks. Mars only retrogrades every two years for eight to 11 weeks. (This time Mars took the entire 11 weeks—from December 6 to February 23.) Mars rules action. Mars is the gas in your stove and in your car—no gas, no go. Nothing happens.
Directly after Mars was finished, Venus, which rules luxury, beauty, pampering, and your appearance, as well as money and profits, also went retrograde, from March 1 to April 12.
Meanwhile, Mercury went retrograde twice between November 27 last year and April 7 this year. It was hard to make progress.
Since no planet wakes up and is strong the day he goes direct after weeks of being retrograde, each planet has to work up to the strength it was prior to its going retrograde (astrologers can see this mathematically).
