Now let’s turn to the position of Mars. Since November 3, Mars has been in your seventh house while in Leo, not the easiest place to host Mars, for you may have felt you didn’t have control of events. Mars was putting the power into other people’s hands, and you had little choice but to be conciliatory and cooperative. Mars is currently retrograde, a trend he started December 6 and will continue until February 23.

Mars retrograde is a weakened Mars. You might find that convincing anyone of anything will be nearly impossible. Mars teaches us how to compete, and when Mars is retrograde, he cannot offer his high-octane help. Every retrograde planet tells us to review the past, to see if an idea you had is still viable but had to put aside for lack of time or money.

If you do have something you’d like to regenerate, make a plan now, but don’t launch it until early May. No planet becomes strong immediately after it goes direct—astrologers can tell mathematically when that will happen, and for Mars, that’s May 1. (Mars will get stronger and stronger with each passing day after February 23.) You have time to think about a new way to approach that viable idea.
